Summary: After an event that changes Octavia, your best friend, for good; she shuts you out and pushes you away for good.

It had been only a few hours since Lincoln was killed. You had been waiting in the cave with Bellamy whilst Octavia went to rescue Lincoln, only to find out what had happened when they all came back.

You had noticed that Lincoln wasn't with anyone first, but Bellamy had beaten you to it to speak on it; and that ended in him getting beaten badly by his own sister. Nobody did anything about it as Octavia striked her brother across the face repeatedly, and you couldn't even do anything yourself because you had still been processing everything going on.

Night had fallen, and you had all stayed in the same cave that night. It was quiet. Nobody knew what to say, or they were too afraid to speak. You wanted to go comfort Octavia, like you had when Jasper had been speared and taken by grounders, but this was different.

You knew your best friend, and you knew she wasn't the same person she was a day ago; but you had to try. If anyone could reach her besides Bellamy, it was you. So, you walked over to the fire where she sat alone, gazing into the flames emotionlessley, jaw tightening as you approached.

"Octavia... can we talk?" You asked, as you crouched beside her, pulling your hair out of your face. She kept her eyes on the orange blaze ahead of her, not even bothering to look over to you, or even speak a word.

"O, we need to talk about what happened... please, tell me what happened to Linc-" You had tried to say, but she growled; "don't" before you could finish his name. Your mouth remained open, unsure of what to do, or what to say. You could feel the others eyes on the two of you, but they were just as hopeless as you had been.

"Don't say his name." She said lowly, finally turning to face you. A look of pure hatred was splattered across her enraged face, eyes glaring deep into your soul. You had never seen her look at you this way before, and it honestly frightened you. "You. You played a part in this." She spat, pointing to your jacket. "You could've done something, just as Bellamy could've. But neither of you did." She said with no emotion, but anger fueling within her orbs. "The two most important people in my life took away my home-" She began, but this time you intervened.

"Octavia- I tried. You think I wanted to do what Pike demanded of me? No, I didn't-" You tried to attest, but she quickly took your words from you once again. "But you carried them out anyway. What a noble guard member you are, y/n. You knew he wanted Lincoln dead. You knew how to get him out. You knew you could've told me, but you didn't do any of that. We were supposed to be better than the Ark, but you all turned out worse, and you expect to swoop in, comfort me over something you caused, and save me from it all? Well guess what, y/n. You can't save someone who's already dead." She seethed, reaching for her wrist.

Her hand wrapped around a bracelet that the two of you had matching pairs of, one that was made within the first week of landing of the ground. It was a symbol of your friendship, of the platonic love you two shared. "No- please, O', don't do it." You begged, tears forming in your eyes.

A small, malevolent smile formed on her face; the first true emotion shown since yesterday. It was one that showed that she took pleasure in seeing you in pain, seeing tears in your eyes. She had your whole friendship wrapped within her fingers, and with that, she ripped it right off. "You're dead to me." Were her final words as she tossed that bracelet into the flames, getting up from her spot, and exiting the cave.

You couldn't tell if hearing those words, or if knowing that you did play part in the death of her lover was worse, and you knew you'd be stuck thinking about it for a very long time. You knew she wasn't lying; you knew your best friend. You were the one to tell Pike where Lincoln could be found, and you were one of the reasons he was now dead, and now, your best friend was too.
