HUGE DAY FOR ANNOYING PEOPLE
he's come so far
has this been done before? yes probably. is it terrible quality? oh absolutely. do i care? no!
i’m doing dracula daily via re: dracula (dracula daily in podcast form) this year and i’m really glad that i checked the cast because if i randomly heard jonathan sims or elias bouchard in the middle of it without knowing in advance i would’ve astral projected into hell
it’s TOO MANY SLICES
game so good it makes you embroider
okay so a quick note on night vale and call signs. also before i get into this i am aware that the fcc probably doesn’t exist in night vale and literally none of this matters but let me have this.
as you probably know, all radio stations have call signs, which are typically four letter codes used to identify the station. some stations do have three letters, but the majority have four. now the way i see it, the radio station in night vale has two possible call signs: NVCR and WTNV. i do think that WTNV could be the actual call sign of the station because sometimes stations will have catchphrases based off of their call signs. the station i host at does, so i could see cecil using “welcome to night vale” as an intro to his show as a way to reference the call sign. if we’re following actual call sign rules, then NVCR is automatically ruled out because radio call signs in the US can only start with K or W. typically, K call signs are west of the mississippi and W call signs are east of it. night vale is most likely in the southwest of the us, which would typically mean that it would have a K call sign, but there are some exceptions to that rule. So here’s our two options:
1. Night Vale is somehow located East of the Mississippi.
2. Night Vale is located West of the Mississippi and is just one of those special cases where the call sign starts with a W anyway.
3. the secret third option that i lied to you about. NVCR can still win. N is actually used as a call sign, but not for radio stations, its used for navy vessels. night vale was actually a navy ship the WHOLE TIME and they’ve been lying to us- wait where are you going why are you leaving
