Hey, i read the anon posts and umm if i remember correctly we saw that Scott took an advanced class with Lydia, right? And he did studied for english... I mean we can say that Scott was hardworking student. By the way, i think Stiles was mentally ill, when you think about his panic attacks and nightmares....
Stiles definitely has mental illness, but ADHD is not one of them, because ADHD isn't a mental illness. It's a learning disability. Some people view them as points on a spectrum, others view them as overlapping categories. This is a very long-standing disagreement among educators and psychologists, so this is discourse I'm going to handwave away, because it's ultimately irrelevant to my point.
Whether or not Stiles has ADHD - or any mental illness or learning disability - has no impact on his intelligence. That anon was only pissed at me because I said people don't have to call Scott dumb to be able to call Stiles smart. Making the fight centered on Stiles and ADHD had nothing to do with ADHD and almost nothing to do with Stiles.
A lot of people in fandom write Scott as an idiot, despite the fact he does well in class when he isn't worrying about life-and-death situations outside of class.
Conversely, Stiles is written as a genius who is at the top of his class after Lydia, despite the fact we have been given clear indications of him struggling in class, and no indication of what his grades and classes are like.
This isn't to say I think Scott is actually a genius or Stiles is an idiot. This was to highlight how fandom pushes characters into convenient archetypes based on stigmas and stereotypes surrounding education and learning ability.
