i just have a lot of emotions about lesbian charlene turner. she’s a kid and everybody’s talking about romance and her friends are trying to set her up with boys but she always resists because she says that she cares about them as best friends but not romantically so everyone around her is dating but she’s not because it doesn’t feel romantic with any guy and then there’s finn who’s the gentle leader, he’s the hero he’s the guy you’re supposed to fall in love with so she convinces herself that she likes him and they flirt but it’s still not right and then there’s maybeck who she gets close to in shell games they have sweet moments but they are all completely platonic to the point where them holding hands in described as brotherly and their relationship is reminiscent of finn and willa who are the pinnacle of platonic relationships but charlene tries to interpret her’s and maybeck’s relationship as romantic because at this point she knows that she hasn’t truly liked any guys in the past and she thinks that maybe she’ll like maybeck because he’s and artist and so different from other guys she’s dated but really she sees that all the moments she construed as romantic we’re really platonic and the moments that were genuinely romantic were forced and didn’t feel right (for either of them because maybeck was in love with finn (but that’s for me to talk about at a later stage)) and really that whole relationship was a prime example of comphet so they go back to being friends and that’s good because they really do love each other, just not romantically and then again in shell games charlene starts to truly get to know amanda and she feels something so different she finally feels the feeling her friends describe to her as what liking someone feels like and she just goes ‘oh’. It finally makes sense and she loves the feeling she’s so happy to finally understand and she and amanda get closer and charlene knows what love feels like and she realizes she’s a lesbian and you know that quote from schitt’s creek where patrick tells david he makes him feel right and understand what love feels like? yeah it’s that.
