@charmingsprout replied to your post “who is felix if dimitri is cinnamoroll”:
i dont go here but badtz-maru has basically the same expression
jfklsdjfksdljfl badtz-maru and cinnamoroll..........
the tategami aren't really talked about because they don't exist in the manga lol, they were an anime-only creation that replaces a different group called kasa from the manga
OH WHOA THE MORE YOU KNOW !! thank u nabari scholar, i’m forever in your debt
it was the age gap ones, raimei is a mary sue (that one is OLD), the kouichi is predatory one iirc, and the bury your gays ones
IM SHDJSJJSSJ... please the worst part of this is that most of those are such horrifically bad takes. the age gap one? bad. raimei mary sue? bad. predatory kouichi because he’s IMMORTAL? bad. bury your gays? that one might have a point to some people but there’s no actual SUBSTANCE to it so it’s also bad. i’m surprised the raikou ones weren’t true honestly, i really thought the bad gnc mlm representation take would have some weight to it.
honestly the funniest part of this is that the kouichi one came from my brother when i asked him for bad nabari takes
thank you so much for telling me. i really needed to know. you’re so brave
i know it’s probably been a while but i wanted to thank you for your rebuttal against that twitter thread about shimanami being written for cishets. to me a lot of that thread read like anything that shows negative experiences that lgbtqa+ ppl face is automatically bad and everything should be fluffy. which i can understand some ppl want but to me has always felt dismissive, so i’m glad kamatani didn’t shy away from tough subjects. the equating of an aroace nb person with cishets was also... ew
Thank you! Honestly this is the pessimist in me speaking but I’m hesitant of queer stories (about queer identities) with almost no conflict of identity because it’s just unrealistic to me. Also, if you think you can tell me, an aroace nb person, that an aroace nb person wrote one of the best queer stories I’ve ever read for cishets, you are wrong.
what i especially love is cgi/animated owls who can move their eyes in their sockets! like, did you miss the most basic information on owls? (and i'd LOVE to see more altricial chicks animated, i love them more than precocial chicks lol)
I’m not too put off by eye movement in animated owls, it seems like it’s in the same vein as all cartoon characters having human facial muscles, which is there to make emotions readable. But also mostly because it’s overshadowed by how every cgi animal nowadays has huge exaggerated human eyes, with the big whites and colorful iris and all. It looks outputting and it’s deffo not necessary for emotions to read well? If multi-million dollar merch-monster pikachu doesn’t need visible sclera neither does your cartoon bird
yuhki kamatani's newest manga (the one about being lgbt+) is called shimanami tasogare!
thank you!!! ^^
the scans for shimanami tasogare probably won't update for a while, sorry :( chapter 8 was just released in japan this month and it's on a bimonthly schedule. hachimitsu says they're working only from the published volumes, and volume 2 is probably gonna only get released in august or later :( (if you're desperate though, hibana (the magazine it's in) is available thru ebookjapan and other sources, that's how i read it)
oh, i see. thanks for the heads up. i’ll just wait :(
