The Charmswell houses obviously reminded me of the Hogwarts houses so my brain instantly started making comparisons.
I was happily surprised when Sofia (and her friends) were sorted into Merryweather, since I’ve always headcanoned her as Ravenclaw for her creativity, curiosity, and maturity.
I know that Miss Nettle only created three houses rather than four, but I strongly believe that her equivalent house would be Slytherin if she had one, due to her ambitious, cunning, and self-interested nature.
Flora house would be Gryffindor because she is sort of the leader of the group and known for her bravery and determination.

Fauna house would be Hufflepuff because she is the mild-mannered, kind, loyal, conflict-resolver of the group. Hufflepuffs are also stereotyped as dim-witted, which reflects her naiveté and obliviousness at times.
This leaves Merryweather, which I would associate with Ravenclaw for her practicality and honesty, as well as her foible of being stubborn and judgmental, and argumentative.
