Is this dinner? I'd forgotten how much charred broccoli cooks down, I wish I'd done double 😭 Also featuring fancy baguette and a big spread of some *very* fancy butter that I wound up buying because it was basically a character in one of my favorite books of the year. IYKYK.
This broccoli always knocks it out of the park but is dead simple. I cranked my tiny Japanese oven as high as it would go, tossed the broccoli with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and cooked it for about half an hour, til it was nice and sweet. Then add garlic, anchovy paste (or fish sauce), fresh lemon juice, and chili flake, and mix well. I promise you, it doesn't smell as bad as you're worrying, and it tastes better than you can imagine.
