In the game canon (well, extended canon) Shadow was created based on ancient murals of super sonic/another hedgehog with that power, the same ones you see on the walls in Sonic 3. Hedgehogs for whatever reasons can use Chaos Emeralds better than anything else, so that was what Gerald Robotnik and Black Doom came up with.

It’s not great. All the arenas are just circles so it doesn’t even have the cool stages Gunslinger Stratos and My Hero: One’s Justice has. I think people are just giving it a free pass because arcsys had a hand in it.
Maybe, i’m not fond of Arena Fighters AT ALL, about the only ones i can tolerate are Naruto Ninja Storm games, Eyes of Heaven (Mostly because i’m a JoJo fanboy) and maybe Pokken, but overall they end up playing the same with more flare than actual entertaining gameplay.
I went to Kill la Kill IF because (and i shit you not) some people said it was “The Devil May Cry of 3D Arena Fighters”... bruh, what? it plays just like fucking Jump Force

at least two of those things are correct yeah
All that matters is "Banana Oni" is now Ibaraki's canon nickname. Also prepping for the absolute nightmare of grinding an NP5 Chloe since the event never gets a rerun. As for JP, the grind is extreme even by fgo standards and most of the banner servants are pretty underwhelming this time around, which is outside the norm for summer events.
