There's 60 days till exams are over, so I thought I could do a 60 Days of Productivity challenge.

Revision has not been as smooth as I had hoped it would be. Everyday is a struggle and my mental health has never been worse, but I'm stuck on this miserable plane of existence so I may as well just focus on today and forget the existential horror of the years ahead, right?

19 August 2022, Friday.

The last week has been difficult. I've been struggling to meet deadlines and complete tasks, while simultaneously trying to keep positive and not let panic set in.

In the end it was a good nap that that helped reset everything. Working whilst sleep deprived negatively affects productivity to the point where I stay up to finish my tasks leaving me more worse off the next day.

I took a break from everything for a while and now I'm ready to do my best again.

This week I have been practicing textbook questions from cost accounting. I was finally able to get the rest of my study material and have been frantically revising tax. By the end of next week I should be able to do a revision test for taxation to assess my knowledge.

1 August 2022, Monday.

Today was generally calm. I practiced some questions from the textbooks, and did some reading.

A while ago I realised that a large part of my day goes by scrolling on some social media app in a constant need for worthless content. So I've been trying to read more instead. I used to be a voracious reader in school but after highschool I've found it difficult to sit and focus on one thing only. But now I'm finding myself wanting to know more about everything in life. And being widely read can only benefit me.

8 August 2022, Monday.

Today has been very productive. I practiced a couple of chapters in costing and prepared my flash cards for Accounting from Incomplete Records. I did some reading and even had time for some light exercise in the evening.

Tomorrow I'll go over marginal costing, budgeting and standard costing one more time.

31 July 2022, Sunday.

Well August has arrived a lot faster that I thought it would. And it's going to be a busy, productive and fulfilling month ahead.

I started today with sorting out my study journal and getting ready for the week ahead. I revised several chapters from cost accounting. Later I found a video online that I think will help with the problems I was having with Branch Accounting. I will watch it tomorrow. I spent time with my family and spent some time reading.

Post covid I have been experiencing severe fatigue and difficulty with waking up. So I'm going to try and limit the late night study sessions and instead see if sleeping earlier and waking up early helps.

A couple of days ago it rained really hard and this frog found its way into the house. He's a Malabar gliding frog (Rhacophorus malabaricus). I have an enduring love for frogs and this one was so interesting. This species makes gliding jumps between trees up to 12 meters away. And he's such a beautiful vibrant green in colour. I got to observe him for ages. I left him a tub of water so that he didn't dry out and put him back out on a tree after the rain stopped.

Revision 1 | Day 3/24

I'm still having trouble with Branch accounting and Incomplete records, but I'm getting there. However all the other chapters are going well. Tomorrow I'm going to start solving questions from previous year's papers to try some exam oriented problems.

If anyone knows any good resources to study Branch accounting, could you please help me.

20 July 2022, Wednesday.

Revision 1 | Day 6

Studied all morning and then sat for a revision test. Except for two questions that I ran out of time for, I solved the whole paper.

After correcting it, I see that I did pretty well in terms of the accounting stuff, but there were careless mistakes like neglecting to write headings and some details in the presentation of my answer sheet, and of course I need to work on my speed of answering. But my balances tallied and the answers were correct so I'm happy with getting this far.

Within the time I have remaining for the exam I'm going to try to do at least 5-8 revision papers more because this was a great exercise in learning to deal with exam stress.

The next revision test is Cost & Management Accounting and it will be on 26 July.
