Seeing as I just broke 700 followers (which for real thank you so much for the love y’all🥹), and we’re coming up on the 1 year anniversary of this account, I figured it was time I finally introduced myself on here!

So Hey!

I’m embersofonyx (formerly and originally known as dragonridersandhighlords) but I just go by G!

I’ve been writing Fan Fiction since 2017! Which is crazy that I’m pushing 10 years on this wild ride!

I started out as strictly Marvel and eventually dove into Supernatural with a once off dabble into broadway musicals (specifically Newsies that still gets interactions to this day and scares me every time😅)

In 2020, I stepped away for about 2 years during the most difficult time of my life before returning in 2022 in the Top Gun Maverick fandom that turned out to be the best and worst decision on my fanfic writer life! After about a year and a half, meeting 3 of the best friends I’ve ever had and getting treated like a lower class writer, I made the decision to permanently step away from online fan communities and fan fiction.

Seeing as this account started March of 2025, and you’re here reading an intro on an account with nearly 100 fics… clearly I did and could not stay away🤣

I made this account with the sole purpose of just having an outlet to write and get out of my Empyrean induced reading slump! I had every intention of ignoring comments, reposts, asks, and direct messages because as you previously read… I’ve been scorned by fanfic communities. And yet I have made some great moots and I love interacting with readers here🥹

About ATWWSA - What started out as only a Xaden Riorson fanfic that I used to play with different tropes than I have ever written and get out of the Fourth Wing induced reading slump (I didn’t sleep for three days just to read the books), has turned into this insane series with 6 OCs all interacting with each other at some point. 😮‍💨 While this series is a stress and half, every minute I get to spend in this world, developing these characters, and dropping crazy lore in cliffhangers(😅), are moments I will never trade for the world!

A LITTLE ANNOUNCEMENT!

Because I have no self control (I have 6 OCs for one universe did we ever think I had control?) and because I have an insider friend who is incapable of telling me no, ATWWSA is getting a BONUS SAGA!

Now you might be thinking — G, you take forever to update as it is! You’re going to add more onto your plate? — the answer is yes and no!

What We Hold On To is a bonus saga of limited series, meaning these aren’t going to be as extensive as ATWWSA. These are the in between stories that only merely mentioned and don’t necessarily drive the plot forward, but I wanted to write anyways. So for a sneaky peak, see below ⬇️

One More I Love You | Eden Anselm & Harlow Tavis - When plotting act 3, 4 & 5 of ATWWSA, I started to think HEAVILY about Wrenley’s parents. And then I started thinking about their love story and the tiny snippets we get like the “love isn’t a battlefield” line in CS 8 or the reference that Lilith Sorrengail and Eden were best friends! So I accidentally (yes I mean it), plotted a mini series!

Catch My Breath | Sloane & Dain - I have been dying to write Slain! But I could never think of anything to write, so when the idea of bringing Liam back surfaced for ATWWSA, I knew CYH would be my opportunity. But I also didn’t want to stray from Mae and Liam’s story, thus this mini series was born!

Change Your Mind | Mira & Drake - This one is purely self fulfilling! I am obsessed with these two getting together and I just wanted to write it lol

Screaming Underwater | Catriona & Trager - It honestly makes me sad to say I’m going to write this because they had such little time together. Tessa (TW) is Trager’s twin if you hadn’t pieced that together (or hadn’t read the prologue), which means he’s getting some screen time and Xaden saying Trager has been in love with Cat for years? Yea of course I wasn’t going to write it HA

Out of the Ordinary | Aaric & Moira - Aaric deserves a little attention right? Plus he's working like crazy behind the scenes so we gotta see what he was up to.

okay, the whole “silly writers, siblings aren’t supposed to actually like each other” thing was always annoying, but it has now morphed into actual real-life people telling me and my actual real-life sibling that our relationship is weird and creepy because we enjoy spending time together and aren’t constantly at each other’s throats, so if we could all collectively stop pretending that siblings are only capable of being cruel to each other, and that any depiction otherwise is unrealistic, that would be great, thanks

I've been out of the critical role world for a hot minute but I'm planning to get back into it for the start of campaign 4, which starts on October 2 if I understand correctly? is beacon worth it? I don't 100% understand it from the website other than it seems kind of like dropout? is it worth it? I can get a twitch prime subscription for free but depending on what's in there it might be worth paying for. is the Jester/Fjord wedding only happening live through Cineplex or whatever other movie places they mentioned in the post that I can't remember? will that be on beacon? if yes, will it also be on twitch/YouTube/etc?

also please like what will help me reorient to what's been going on in the past like many years I think I stopped watching c3 at like episode 78? so what general updates do I need and where can I find them help
