I absolutely loved this book! This book completely stole my heart, and I became attached to the characters almost immediately. By the end, I was emotional, crying, and eager to continue the series.

Kai and Alex 🤍. I was rooting for them from the very beginning. Their chemistry was incredible, and watching their bond grow throughout the story was one of my favorite parts. They both felt like real people with their own fears, struggles, and vulnerabilities, which made them easy to connect with.

This book is so much more than just a romance. It explores heavier topics like homophobia, abuse, drugs and alcohol use… and finding comfort and security in another person. There were plenty of moments that made my heart ache.

The writing was beautiful and easy to read. I flew through the pages because I was completely invested in the characters and needed to know what would happen next. It’s one of those books that quietly pulls you in until you realize you’re fully obsessed.

The reason this earned a 4.75 instead of a full 5 stars is because it came so close to being perfect. The emotional depth, character development, and romance were all exceptional and made this an incredibly memorable read. My only real criticism was the ending, which relied heavily on a cliffhanger. While it definitely made me eager to continue the series, it also left me wanting a bit more closure after becoming so invested in the story. That lingering frustration was the only thing keeping this from a full 5 stars.

Overall, Chasing Fields was emotional, heartwarming, and impossible to put down. The characters and story left a lasting impression, and I already know this is a book I’ll be thinking about for a long time. Can’t wait for the second book!

“Are you sure you want to do this?” Kai asked, holding the electric shaver.

“Well, I can’t go around looking like this—” Alex gestured to himself dryly. He dropped his gaze, embarrassed for snapping. It wasn’t Kai he was mad at. It was himself.

Kai seemed to see right through him and softly squeezed the back of his neck. Grounding him.

Their lips moved together, soft and experimental. Alex winced a little as Kai’s hand brushed his side. 

“You okay?” He asked.

“Yeah,” Alex murmured with a beautiful, shy smile. He’d been better than he had in a long time—maybe ever. His gaze was brimming with happiness.
