So my friend asked me to make a top 5 saddest death at one of my fandom.
So here we are ... Also spoiler alert if you haven't watched them.
Hunger Games:
5. Mags Flanaga
- We knew she would die eventually yet we still believed in her. That is until the fog started to appear. And her sacrifice made me cry, thanks to the accompanionment of Finnick shouting "Mags!" Desperately while Katniss tried to snap him out of it.
4. Cinna
- An unexpected death tbh. He's the last person that Katniss saw and talked to before the 74th and 75th hunger games and he was the one Katniss trusted the most out of Effie and Haymitch from the start. Which made his death more unbearable to Katniss as she helplessly watch him die. And that hit me hard
3. Primrose Everdeen
- Hold up just number three? Well you probably know who already takes up the number two and one spot. But let's talk about Prim here.
She was the Sole reason Katniss go caught with everything that happened to her in the whole book and movies. To make sure that Prim was safe. And her death was such a shocker not only because she died, but how she died. It was so sudden. And the way Katniss was devastated not only because she just saw two people who have gotten close to her (Finnick and Boggs) die her sister, the girl who is giver her the strength to fight on just dies right in front of her.
2. Rue
- I was like crying for a solid thirty minutes after she died. Like Marvel I hate youuuu. Other than Peeta Rue was the only person Katniss trusted, she even treated her like how she treated Prim. In a way in my perspective that Rue would be how Primrose would be if she got voted, without the amazing tree climbing skills though. So it was like a sibling instinct on her to take care of her. Which mde her death a lot more devastating, seeing her shocked face after seeing the spear on her chest, and how she wanted Katniss to sing her a song while looking at the tree's was amazingly made to make you bawl your eyes off. Then the part where Katniss burried her on flowers was so emotional. We knew she would die eventually since only one soul survive but like with Mags we wanted her to survive.
1. Finnick Odair
And now we talk about the death nobody expected. Like I would rant for hours just for this death alone. Finnick was my Favorite character in the whole series, since even if he wasn't one of the main cast (to my surprise) he is one of the characters who got fleshed put backstory and character development, he even got married to the woman of her dreams.
AND THEN THE MUTANT MUTTS HAPPENED. At the start it seemed like he will survive since he got there first. But when he threw his trident to save Katniss from the mutts, you know I was already praying for him to survive. And then he started to climb the ladder and I was happy but then A mutt grabed him and brought him back down, and I was already bawling. Him shouting Katniss Name out of desperation and Katniss looking devastated seeing the person who she knew the one who related to her the most gets killed. And lo and behold a whole day of a mess of my crying whenever I see a fish or sugar.
It was so unexpected, and thats why it became number one. Now if you ask me, I wonder why neither Gale nor Katniss shot the mutt what pounced on Finnick as he climbed the Stairs but maybe that was my salt.
