😳 ; What is something or someone you have always wanted to write with? i.e. a particular plot, a character, etc.

Bedelia turning “evil”. She’s a very grey character and I know that she has the capacity to turn one way or another if there’s not that balance between those two sides of her. 

🙄 ; What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to tumblr?

Already answered, but I’ll add one more. I know it’s hard sometimes when we’re upset/hurt/etc., but please talk to people if there are issues and don’t just make a mess. Digging your heels in and not accepting to talk about the issues is also not going to help.

☹️ ; Do you have any insecurities about writing and/or interacting with other people?

Hahahahahaha... yes, but it’s a general feeling I have. I’m simply scared to not be good enough, so that applies to writing too as well as my portrayal. Sometimes it shows when I write the tags or just when I take forever to reply because I’m simply scared of it not being properly written and/or ooc. I know I tend to be a perfectionist and I have that fear, so it’s a fun mix because it makes me write even more slowly.

^^That. But also from an ace standpoint, like, if those things line up and there’s a word, use the freaking word. We know what you mean. The only reason I have it that way on my multi is to have the same standard across muses — but I could probably think of a better way to do it and change that.

Yeah, like, someone saying they’re an asexual lesbian or a non binary gay person - that makes sense because lesbian and gay indicate attraction to a specific group (women and men in this instance), while including the other facets of their identity that are individual (they are asexual but still have attraction to women; they’re a non binary person with attraction to men, etc etc).

But when the split attraction model is applied to non-asexual folks (who may desire a second identifier like above), it’s really harmful to people in that it can make them feel forced to identify one way or another when in reality, it’s not so clear cut. Like, to suggest that someone is “heterosexual biromantic” implies a strict division of oh, only sex w the “opposite” gender, but romances both “same” and “opposite” but refuses sex with one group? like it’s contradictory, for one, and damaging for two when people who are still learning about themselves and are trying to date others (because then the “others” in this equation may be hurt because Oh I Can’t Have Sex With You (where in general if sex was the  issue then... they could just ID as asexual because that’s a Thing that Exists)

This is a little convoluted and I’m not trying to outright tell people DONT IDENTIFY THIS WAY!!! - I’m saying in the context of the RPC that it isn’t realistic. Idk about you but i’ve never met an non ace person who identified irl with a split attraction model openly - rather they say, you know “I’m gay” “i’m bi”, etc etc etc. 

There are other posts out there that explain it better but I can’t find them off hand, but it’s just.... tiring to see especially in the context of lesbian and gay characters because there’s a word for it and it covers a wide area of same gendered attraction.

Consider the comma like a natural pause in speech, where the em-dashes are interruptions. Like if a person is excited, and goes “Woahwoahwoah wait– what?” or indications of stutters in “N-no, please,” it shortens the ‘sound’ or stops it completely without stopping the sentence. Does that make sense?

It makes a lot of sense! That’s how I’ve used it (or tried to use it), but I wasn’t sure I used it properly, so thanks a lot!!!

Yeah! And I think, like, typically if you’re going to use a said verb and add action to that, you use commas instead of an em-dash, but other than that. It’s more about the feel of the thing.

When it concerns action, I think for now I’ll stick mostly to the commas, but I might try to use em-dash sometimes if it feels right.

You can basically use commas and em-dashes in the same manner with speaking text. Commas are just softer and em-dashes are harsher, so it’s more about the flow of the narrative and how you want it to feel than it is about a strict grammatical rule.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ve always used commas, so when I saw people use em-dashe, I was confused, but now it makes so much more sense!

✂ - Do you hate people easily? 

I don’t think so, but I don’t really like people easily either. I just tend to be quite neutral with people until I know how I truly feel around them. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a cold-hearted bitch not all the time, but I’m mostly polite with people I don’t know. Of course there are a few people I hate, but it didn’t happen in a split second. It’s quite easy to make me not like you, but it’s hard to make me really hate you.
