The tapping of an owl against her window was enough to make her nearly jump from her skin. Looking at it with a tilted head, it certainly wasn’t any owl she recognized. Ignoring it she went back to her studies - maybe the poor thing had the wrong room. Though it insisted on it’s pecking. “What do you want...” she mumbled slightly annoyed. Opening the window it swooped in almost as if it had authority over her. “Well excuse you..” Letting out a small hoot, a letter addressed to her sat below it.
Grace tilted her head as she looked at it, completely unrecognizable handwriting as well. “Who sent you..” she asked herself mostly as she ran her hands over a seal on the back of the envelope. The flapping of wings disturbed her train of thought as she watched it take off, leaving her with this letter.
Opening it carefully she chewed on her lip the whole time - nervous tick. Grace read the words close to hundred times, her blood only growing colder each time, and the shiver through her spin only causing standing to become an issues. Taking a seat on the edge of the bed she covered her mouth in horror. It was him, the one who thought she owed him her life after saving her a few weeks ago. Grace though for sure she was safe making it this long without a word from him, though she was quick to discover, that leash was a toy, letting her run out far enough to believe she was free before being yanked back.
He requested her to meet him as his place on the outskirts of London, which seemed like the trip no one would really want to make. Though fear drove her to her suitcase to pack, who knew how long he was going to keep her there. The tick of fear that she may just disappear slipped into her thoughts.
After trains and asking directions a millions times Grace managed to find herself in the middle of no where. Seemed like the perfect hide away for a vampire.. no one could hear a thing to what horrors lied under the roof of those night crawlers. “You’re here miss...” “I... wh... oh.. “ Her head had been lowered as she played with her hands, not wanting to see a thing. Though looking up at the mansion it was certainty breath taking. “Thank you.” Tipping the man she grabbed hold of her bag and stepped out onto her wobbly feet. Tipping the man she watched him leave her here at the house that matched all the descriptions she was given.
Clearing her throat Grace made her way up to the front door. It took what felt like ages to lift her heavy arm up to knock against the door, maybe if she was lucky he wouldn’t home, and she could escape back home and tell someone she needed help.
Grace knew she shouldn’t be out alone at this time. No one in their right mind would be wondering around at this time of night. Though, Grace was known to do everything that was absolutely wrong for her in every way possible. Pulling her jacket around her tighter she looked out at her own breath puffing in front of her. If you were to ask why she was out, she’d just say to get some fresh air. No one really wanted to be along on New Years night, and that’s what Grace found tonight. Or at least that’s what she thought.
Grace heard quick steps behind her, almost as if she were somethings prey. Holding her breath she get a better sound she heard steps again, this time far off from the others. More than one? “H-Hello?” Maybe it was just a few kids playing a sick trick on her. “This isn’t funny!” Grace’s hand slipped into her pocket where she held her wand, ready for anything at this point. As swiftly as her hand slipped in, and icy touch grasped her wrist. Surly this was hard enough to leave a bruise. “Drop it...” The voice Slipped out like velvet across her neck as an icy nose slipped against her neck. Out of fear she just froze and held on to the wand for dear life.
“This should be fun.. easy...” A different voice filled the air coming from her left side while the original one could still be felt breathing down her neck. “She’ll taste sweet too..” Vampires. Grace’s heart speed up, and she cursed mentally to herself. If anything she shouldn’t get her blood racing around her veins. “Please... P-Please don’t hurt me..” Shutting her eyes her focus was on her wrist that was still grasped harshly under the stranger. With a sharp twist her wrist was brought up behind her back and her fingers released her only form of protection.
In a blink on an eye Grace had been shoved against a nearby tree with two strangers towering over her. “Hold her still...” No... Noo. Before Grace could say anything a sharp pain hit her neck and a scream left her . Someone had to hear it.. someone had to save her... right?
