Dressing Up the Problem

Marinette Dupain-Cheng was an art student. She wasn’t good with words. She just needed to pass one more French class to graduate, but she didn’t need to make an A. She was almost done -- she could just sit back and relax, as long as she did well on the final.
Hence why she was staring at the cute boy next to her instead of paying attention to the teacher.
She was an art student, she justified silently to herself that she should be practicing her skills. So, she drew. And she drew. And she drew.
Pretty soon, she had started drawing the cute classmate that was her desk neighbor. He was blonde, with bright green eyes and smooth skin. According to the role call, his name was Adrien Agreste.
Marinette still remembered well the first time she had drawn him. He had been wearing blue jeans and a simple black T-shirt with three colored stripes on the front. His white over-shirt had been draped over the back of his desk, and he sat his chin in his hand as he lightly dozed during the lecture.
The second time, he had been awake, and Marinette had stressed endlessly over whether or not she had been caught staring that day. He had been wearing that black shirt under the white one again. She could relate with wearing the same thing two days in a row. Laundry was a real hassle.
The third time Marinette drew Adrien, he had worn something different. A nice, light blue V-neck adorned his chest over a pair of darker jeans. It hugged his body, giving Marinette decent notice of the muscle tone that belied his athletism.
Alya had caught her after that time. She had kept pestering Marinette after that to talk to the boy, but Marinette knew she wasn’t good with words and it probably wouldn’t happen.
The next day, Adrien Agreste had worn a full suit and done his hair in a rather dashing manner. Marinette had almost been so distracted that she forgot to actually draw him. She was also near certain that she had been drooling at one point during class.
But she hadn’t been caught, so she guessed it didn’t matter.
After class ended, she approached Adrien with a dry mouth and tumbling stomach. One question was on her mind -- a gateway to conversation with the incredibly cute classmate of hers.
“Hey, Adrien, right? So, what’s with the fancy getup?” The inquiry was a simple icebreaker meant to garner his attention -- to get him to notice her and, ideally, ask her out.
She hadn’t expected his response.
“This cute girl that sits next to me keeps drawing me in class, so I figured I’d try to be a better model.” With a wink and a smirk, he looked down at her -- had he always been that tall? -- and Marinette felt her heart race and her mind numb.
“Oh, uh, heh.”
She really wished that she was better with words.
“So,” Adrien continued, taking her blubbering as a sign of approval -- she sent silent prayers of thanks to whatever goddess of love was listening. “Would you like to meet up sometime and draw me some more? Maybe with coffee this time?”
