Château de Villandry, located in the Loire Valley in France, is world famous for its gardens, especially the potager. The design is strictly symmetrical with low boxwood hedges lining the vegetables beds, a central urn in each of the nine beds, standard rose trees for height and color and of course the pretty vegetables themselves adding color to the beds. Who thought that ordinary kale could be so pretty? Since yesterday night I am back home in California, but so jet lagged that I hardly can think straight. I have decided, since I have so many beautiful photos from our vacation in France that I will continue to post them alternating with photos from England and from my own California garden.
