Baked Apple Slices (If you have an oven)
Good as a snack but also when you just need something sweet.
Cheapest apples you can find.
Butter.
The cheapest cinnamon you can find. I got mine from the bottom shelf of my discounter. I don't care what people say about freshness.
A bit of sugar.
Chop your apple into slices, however many you want. Add slices, the cinnamon, some butter (not much, like a pat or two), and the sugar. Mix so it's evenly covered. Add to the baking pan and bake for 40 ish minutes on 350 F/190 C. It might take longer if your slices are thick.
This recipe has a lot of advantages.
Hits the sweet spot. Few ingredients. Ingredients stretch out very far, meaning multiple snacks. Easy peasy lemon squeezy (assuming you have a toaster oven or full sized oven and are able-bodied enough to cut the apples).

Kinda a cheapo, “dorm food” form of mozzarella sticks: wrap a stick of string cheese in a tortilla with your choice of spices, microwave for 30–45 seconds. I haven’t tried pan-frying them but that might be even better. Do not use pepper jack cheese sticks, though.

My Favorite UK Snacks 🇬🇧
When I moved to the U.K., I didn’t realize how hard it would be to go without my favorite snacks. Don’t get me wrong, you can find a lot of US snacks in the U.K.-they even have American food sections in grocery stores! Over time, you do start to forget about your old favorite snacks. You do your shopping and you’ll find things that you really like! These are some things I’ve found in the last…

Roasted Garlic Hummus
We like making hummus because, as it turns out, it's a nice, healthy snack that lasts for more than a day. This time, we decided to make roasted garlic hummus.
FYI: Roasted garlic is eternal bliss inside your mouth. Seriously. I wouldn't lie about something that serious. Also, is looks beautiful.
We used two heads of garlic, 1 pound of garbanzo beans, oil, cavanders seasoning, salt and pepper.
We mixed it up in the food processor, and it took a little while to get the mixture smooth enough for my taste, but you'll just have to work with it. You can even save some of the water you cooked the garbanzo beans in if you want to use less oil.
The final product was very garlic-y but delicious. We snacked on it for 3 or 4 days. Personally, we like to use pretzels because they are cheaper than pita chips. I bet it would have been delicious on pita chips though.
Snack Ramen
Here's a salty snack:
1 pkg ramen
Smash up your ramen noodles. Smash 'em!
Per package, lightly oil a pan, preferably a cast iron pan. You can also dry roast them.
Heat up the pan and throw your sad, broken noodles into the pan stirring while they brown. When they're about golden, add the seasoning or be creative. If you want to make something more diverse like chex mix, you can add nuts and seeds when you're browning, before you add the spice.
Don't get them stuck in your gums. Personally, I like a little hot paprika.
