You have recently got engaged, and you have realised that there are far to many guests you feel should attend your wedding. That aunt you don't even know, cousins you've never met and the ex lecturer from your university course who you promised you would invite. The list seems to just get bigger and bigger!
If you are starting to wonder how an earth you are going to afford this momentous occasion. Take a step back, make a cup of tea because small and intimate weddings are gaining in popularity. In fact I believe a smaller wedding equals a more enjoyable year of organising and a less stressful day of the wedding.

1. Since there will be less people at you wedding and you wont be broadcasting your vows to the world, you can make a much more heartfelt environment for your betrothed.
As you will find out, less of a crowd can save you some penny's. But thats not the only reason behind a small wedding ceremony. By just having a few friends and family there will make your wedding much more intimate. You wont feel as though you are being watched by a million beady eyes. And plus you guests will also feel just that little bit more special knowing that they were asked to join such a small gathering.
2. Without having hundreds of guests to chat with, you can actually enjoy the time with the few that you care about.
Now this is defiantly a big one. How on earth are you going to talk to 150 people in the half an hour you put aside after the ceremony. And its almost guaranteed that the uncle who thinks he is the new David Bailey will follow your photographer around all day, bothering you both during the 20 minuets you wanted with the professional to get some romantic shots. This would be so much more intimate and stress free if you only had your close relatives, family and friends with you. Especially during the ceremony. Its defiantly recommended by many to have a small ceremony then invite all other guests after dinner for the party that follows.
3. Less people dinning means less tables to decorate.
With less tables to decorate you can either spend more money on the decorations or keep the money for something else. Perhaps get some other ambient decoration for around the room.
4. Since there will be less people at your wedding you could take it to a far away land for less.
Isn't it everyones dream to get married on a golden sand beach with the waves slowly lapping onto the shore and the sun setting. Well if only a few of your close friends and family will be at your wedding, it might be cheaper than you think to have the destination wedding you have always wanted.
5. And finally the most important reason is to use those pounds saved on the huge guest list to hire that perfect wedding photographer you wanted.
Perhaps I am a bit bias when I say this could be the most important one, but believe me when I say that the photographs from the wedding will be how you remember the special day in the future. You don't want to open your wedding album in 30 years time and see a picture of an awkward family photo trying to remember who the 200 odd people are in the picture.
