A slight tangent from making music. On hearing the devastating and enraging reports of the anti-LGBT violence sweeping through the Russian province of Chechnya over the last four months (only exposed in late April by courageous reporting from the Novaya Gazeta), I decided to do something about it. So Amps For Equality is the new non-profit I’ve set up to put together fundraising compilations and gigs to support LGBT and gender equality. Right now, our first focus is fundraising for the Russian LGBT Network as it supports victims on the ground.
