I’m reading some Batman fic and as much as I love trans ally Batman, the way that a lot of writers (correctly!!! imo) write Bruce’s feelings about Jason’s death and his resurrection and that gaping gulf between kid and man. Very valid and deep feelings. But it really reminds me of the way parents of trans children, especially children who come out as adults, talk about their child.

I don’t think Bruce is necessarily incapable of accepting change, but many of us (me included) headcanon him as autistic just from the way he historically reacts to things out of his control and the complications other people (that he loves!) bring to his life.

So if any of his kids (but especially Jason, no matter if you headcanon him as a transman who died a ‘girl’ and came back a man or died a ‘girl’, came back a ‘woman’ and then came out as a man or vice versa) came out as trans I don’t think he would want to be an ass about it. I think he would get quite into being a parent of a trans person.

But he would totally be an ass about it first, and for way longer than anyone could stand, and it would likely take a blow-up type of event or two before he got the fuck over himself.
