crazy quilt and details, c. 1880-85.
WIP. I'm still plugging away at this crazy quilt. I've wanted to make a quilt for years, but struggle with geometric patterns. This allows for creativity and spontaneity that doesn't really exist with a more geometric pattern. The embroidery stitches are the most ornate but also practical part of this project. Since I'm also doing the entire thing by hand (like a maniac), those embroidery stitches ultimately reinforce all my back-stitching and help to prevent the possibility of anything coming apart.
okay so the only real tragic backstory thing tim could have from before he started his robin training is witnessing the grayson’s deaths. and of course that event was also dick’s tragic backstory. but like…there were at least a hundred other people in that tent. what happened to them
im picturing a scenario a bit like this:
Robin (tim): Why do you do this, Crazy Quilt? What happened to you?
Crazy Quilt: Well I guess it all started when I quilted the tent for Haly’s circus…
Nightwing, over coms: Oh my god
Robin: this is the third time this month
Some cool cosplays I saw at Heroescon! In order, Absolute Stephanie Brown Robin, Starfire, She-ra, Flatline, and Crazy Quilt.
If you're one of the cosplayers, let me know and I'll tag/credit you!

I love love looove crumb quilting. I never throw scraps out. They all get cut down and once they become crumbs they get added to the chaos.
Why am I starting to play with crazy quilting you ask?
Well you see I have this disease where you can only resist the siren song of new textile crafts for so long and it's called being a fucking genius
