When I’m talking with a new #lymie who is facing a new diagnosis, who has yet to figure out that fear and anxiety levels are much higher in the evenings due to raised cortisol levels... I tell them 1. Don’t take yourself seriously in the evenings. 2. Don’t make any major life decisions in the evenings. The best decisions are not made when we’re in a state of fear, even if it’s the right decision it’s too hard to think clearly about and it’s details. I just cut my bangs @ 10 pm, well past the threshold of the “no decisions” time zone. #lol Actually, I did it because I was standing there for far too long staring stupidly at my hair, hemming and hawing as if I was deciding to donate a kidney. Sometimes, “not taking yourself too seriously” means moving forward without hesitation, without giving fear a place to reside. I’ve decided, I won’t decide whether it was a good idea or not until tomorrow. #godmadebaseballcapsforareason #5secondrule #checkbacklater https://www.instagram.com/p/Bzj3uhth62M/?igshid=1owjfqqcbwu7g
