Ok, so I know it’s stupid to show my face, even when it’s me as a kid, but I’m feeling very nostalgic today. And let me tell you about this cake.

I don’t remember what year this was, but I DO remember wanting, more than ANYTHING, to have a birthday party at Chuckie Cheese. Usually it would be something FAR out of my parents’ budget, but they did everything they could to make it a reality for me. I don’t look like it in this picture (I look miserable in EVERY picture. I don’t like being in front of a camera) but I was walking on the clouds this day.

And to THIS VERY MOMENT, I have never forgotten this cake.

This was NOT a Chuck-E-Cheese cake. My mother made this. Just for my birthday. The lettuce, that’s mint leaf candy. The tomatoes, mustard, burger and buns? All frosting. My mother used to be AMAZING at crafty work. Something I have sadly failed to inherit.

This had to be one of the most epic cakes I have ever had. And it was a pretty fun birthday too.

I THINK this was when I was in 5th grade, but I could be wrong.
