I already do ! There's an older Ninsun design on my account somewhere too lol. Lugalbanda is very much dead in my head in EoG, I think him being dead also adds another grief narrative in which I enjoy.
Ninsun is very interesting to me as well, Gil is so mamas boy it's funny but also I like to think of them always being a level of disconnect between them with his 1/3 of humanity being smth quite potent (at least in terms of gods) Also Ninsun's genes did not fight aside from the blue hair and Gil's eyes a bit lol.
I do think they've always been v close tho, bby Gil is fun to draw
Life advice: cosplay your OC*. It's so gratifying and worth the effort. I had a blast putting together this Zepheera getup, and I'll definitely be doing this again for future cons! I'll probably do a deep dive on all the props and craft work that went into this at a later date, but for now I have a con to do!

More of a ramble than a prompt Idk if this is because I've randomly been getting videos of pottery throwing in my algorithm lately but... I've just been thinking about it from a g/t perspective. Specifically from a tiny's POV with a giant who throws.
Visual reference for what I've been consuming that inspired this thought (plus bonus kitty)
I'm not an expert in throwing by any stretch, so I sort of picture myself in the shoes of a tiny observing the process. The dichotomy of the sheer strength displayed to knead and toss around dense mountains of clay, and the patience and delicate touch required to shape their creations so precisely on the wheel.
A tiny might find such activity simultaneously intimidating and endearing. I feel like a giant potter's hands would be the strongest and most steady, equally capable of being destructive and gentle.
BONUS: Giant potter starts learning to make bowls or cups as teeny as possible for their little friend!

I'm a bit of fashion history enjoyer and I like to research historical context but as is the nature of EOG it can get muddy as all we really know about its time period is that it takes even further in the past than the Sumerians so I've improvised a lot
I try to use a mix of primary sources (I tend to go artefacts found from the Early Dynastic period (2900–2350 BC), descriptions from the Epic itself with a few later Akkadian/Assyrian influences!

Facial Features and Bodies

The text constantly talks about how young Gil is in the grand scheme and i've always found that so interesting, he's supposed to be pretty and dolled up, he' still a big guy but a lot leaner in my head, compared to say when he gets older he'd fill out even more!
I go the blue hair route as I like how its a good signifier he's not fully human. As for styling of said hair, I use his hair as symbolism of how rogue Gil is, he is described as having a restless heart and hair being styles so intricalty doesn't fit with that for me. So i forgo it just for his curls instead
I do ignore the cubit heights personally, tbh if I was in ancient times and saw someone 2 metres tall or more I'd also be like tf. They're both still huge just for the time period it makes it very exaggerated, for example Shamhat is like 1.6m in my head so she's pretty tall compared to the average. < just a personal choice lol
Enkidu
Enkidu is a lot softer solely cause we're going with the clay theme lol, he has a warm undertone for that reason actually. I chose to keep only bull ears and horns for his post 'humanisation' as I think it's interesting if the only bits of his past life he has, he cannot even see unlike say a tail or legs.
Hair wise same as Gil, I don't think he could stand to sit around and have it styled, PLUS i think its so thick like wool it would be a bit impossible too. Hair is kept long as well as I do think it would be intersting for him to lean more towards womans style of fashion, because of his proximity to Shamhat, this goes the same with clothes.
Clothes and Patterns
Clothing is the thing I'm most 'liberal' with mixing up as the nature of fashion is that we lose it to time
A lot of the cuts for things I gather from reliefs and statues, on the left is a woman and I tend to give both Enkidu and Shamhat this for reasons I said before. But I also take a lot creative liberty as I enjoy drawing clothes.
For patterns I use the most anachronistic source of Assyrian designs because I really like the mix between Geometric and 'Natural' shapes. I am a big fan of patterns so if it works it works I'll get it into the stuff I like.
A lot of the jewellery I reference is directly from the Royal Cemetary of Ur, I love how much lapis is used in crafts so i always try to include it if i remember.
At the end of the day there's no wrong way to go about designing them, it's so fun seeing how different people inteperet them they're very malleable characters!

I had a very shitty start to my year to put it lightly. I lost someone very important to me, and it's thrown off my entire equilibrium. I was really hoping to have made more progress with my writing by now before it all went wrong, wanted to start collab-ing again, but it's been very hard to be in the right headspace for that. Grief is unpredictable, so I'm doing the best I can to get through each day.
But this is my happy place. BTaS and working with my friends on other stories brings me joy. And especially with the upheaval Doctor Who is going through right now, this is basically my fix until the future of the show is secure again. I have several WIPs that are so close to being done, and I'm hoping to take some time this July to give myself the push to finish them.
So if you've stuck with me all this time, thank you so much for being patient. I normally hate fishing for any kind of engagement, but as I stated in my tl;dr, I would be absolutely delighted if there are any questions or headcanons I can address while I'm working my way up to finishing things up and posting them. I just don't want this to be a complete downer!
