Life advice: cosplay your OC*. It's so gratifying and worth the effort. I had a blast putting together this Zepheera getup, and I'll definitely be doing this again for future cons! I'll probably do a deep dive on all the props and craft work that went into this at a later date, but for now I have a con to do!

Dressing Like a Borrower

You guys! I found a video that basically encompasses the tiny side of g/t vibes in fiber arts!

This person set out specifically to create an outfit that emulates the costume design from The Borrowers (1997) and I am living for it! It leans a lot closer to costuming than what I'd consider everyday g/t vibes, but it's still fun to watch the effort being put into Becoming Smol. She goes step by step through the whole process of it all, and I thought I'd share in case anyone else finds this as interesting as I do!

Also, she literally uses the term borrowercore, which is something I'm trying to coin, so I'm over the moon!

I got the outfit part of my borrower cosplay done. I’m trying to look as much like a borrower as possible, specifically my character Oliver. It shouldn’t be too hard, especially because I based him off of myself.

I’m really exited about this, as I really wanna bring him to life through myself. Anyways, here’s what I have so far.

A13. Is there something thats too big/small for your character to use/do that they wish they could?

Foxglove would love to ride a roller coaster. Seriously, she would adore it. Ingmar tried to replicate it with a matchbox seat and a video of a coaster run but it's not the same.

Ingmar is slightly too big for everything, he bonks his head on doors, has to specially order clothes, so I think he'd like to be able to actually wear nice clothes he finds in the shop, maybe even be able to order one meal and be full from it. Although he does enjoy those 'eat it all and get it free' places bc he does eat it all and has room for dessert.

A16. Something that your character’s different sized friends do that annoys them.

Agrokuul is forever annoyed by how Gortan always wants to make friends with people. Seriously, he just wants to take jobs bing bang boom thanks. Gortan has to be extra nice, pick a flower or take a game animal back to the client. It takes Agrokuul a long time to part him from any orphans they find in Skyrim.

B8. Favorite setting for g/t?

Fantasy! I'm more partial to giants and humans than tinies and humans, so a stereotypical fairytale giant is always something I enjoy. A deep dark scary forest full of monsters is the perfect place for a G/t story to begin!

B12. Favorite giant/tiny item you own?

I can only pick one?? I've got a whole borrower cosplay and a whole giant cosplay, plus a load of fairy village stuff. I guess, if pressed, my bottlecap is pretty cool

I made a borrower nest. I imagine borrowers have very cluttered messy houses. At least, this is what Oliver’s house looks like. Since he had to reuse an already abandoned nest to build his home. He isn’t very organized and just dumps his borrowings everywhere.
