Because I’m trying to update my fics more consistently… time for a reintroduction of Straight As! It’s a fic following Chen Amber, the cheerleader from The Lego Ninjago Movie, and everything hidden beneath the surface of his family’s perfect facade. If you like movieverse fics and TLNM headcanons/worldbuilding galore, I’d love it if you gave my fic a try!

Chenifer Chenber Jamber Amber Jr. II, known to most as just “Chen”. A cheerleader at Ninjago City High school, on the surface having everything a teenager could want: riches, popularity, good looks, you name it. He play his part perfectly, scoring straight As in class, being the cheer captain, and being acceptably snarky to Public Enemy #2: Lloyd Garmadon.

But, beneath the surface, his family has secrets, dark secrets. Secrets Chen wants nothing more than an escape from… but he knows that’s ridiculous. He’s an Amber, after all, and that fact alone makes him beyond redemption.

If Chen was an Animal Crossing villager, what animal would he be?

After careful consideration and consultation with The Council (see: @impulsivefanwriter), I have concluded that Chen would be a sheep/ram! Due to how he follows commands as told and doesn’t/can’t step out of line, and sheep are a common euphemism for people like that. But, rams specifically have horns, they’re capable of doing damage and fighting back, much like Chen. Unfortunately for him, he’s been taught to hide them away, and been deliberately brought up to never know the true power he’s capable of.

On another note, a certain cousin of his would be a wolf… in sheep’s clothing <3

Hi guys! So I just kinda realized I never really made a proper advertisement/introduction post for either of my ongoing fics, so I wanted to fix that.

So yeah, hi everyone, I’m Angel and I’ve been reading fanfic since elementary school, and posted my first fanfic back then. It was bad, but whose elementary school fanfic wasn’t? Anyway, I like to think I’ve improved as a writer since then, so here’s my first fanfic on Ao3, Straight As (like- A as in the letter. Also it’s a reference to the song you’re thinking it’s a reference to).

Have you ever wondered what things were like for Chen the Cheerleader? You know, that one off bully character from The Lego Ninjago Movie whose existence was only to show how much everyone hates Lloyd? Probably not, right? Well, I’m here to give the answers you didn’t know you needed to a question you didn’t even convince of asking! From long forgotten connections to one of the ninja, to the true nature of his seemingly picture perfect family, Chen Amber lives a much more complicated life than anyone expected. But, hey, at least he has a giant snake to help him through it all.
