Yiren Disco 2025 Day 6

Heart-moving – What scene is most memorable to you? 

This scene never fails to make me cry no matter how many times I’ve rewatched it. 

YRZX can be brutal and heart-wrenching, but it could also be filled with kindness and hope. This scene is the best scene to show that kindness. 

Chen Duo grew up in an abusive cult, which not only poisoned her constantly, but also forced her to poison and kill other children who were just like her. The only world she knew until this scene was a dog-eats-dog one. 

This scene aimed to break that idea—to show her that that wasn’t the way to live. That you don’t have to harm yourself and others just to survive. 

First she resists, bewildered by the kindness other kids are lending out to her. 

Then, the anger. Perhaps, at Liao Zhong for destroying her misshapen world and showing her another? At her abusers for keeping her away from that better world? At Heaven and Fate for subjecting her to live a life filled with pain from the moment she was born? 

And, of course, the grief. It is just so palpable in every frame of this scene. Her anguished cries never fail to make me cry as well. 

This scene profoundly shows the ethos of YRZX: kindness and helping one another are more natural than cruelty. 

But what makes this scene extra special for me is that in a scene showcasing kindness, there’s someone standing up for a queer kid. This is a deliberate choice—one that stuck with me and made me fall in love with YRZX to be honest.

Day 8: Bonds

What is your favorite existing dynamic? Or who are characters you’d like to see interact?

Omg I’ve been waiting for this!

I don’t technically think this counts as… “existing” but…

CHEN DUO AND MA XIANHONG

*explodes* (technically Qing Ye is my fav dynamic lovers but for the sake of… spreading my father daughter agenda… I talk about them too much already lmao /hj)

No but they’re my special head canoned family that I will die with… I love how passionate MXH is about curing her, taking her in and was the first person to ever give her a real choice :(

He’s like a father to her and I know it’s not a good ending for both of them but… I like to just imagine their lives together being happy in Biyou village, away from the company and Qu Tong sob

I will also never quite get over the fact that MXH will never properly be able to grieve losing Chen Duo… or even knows what happened to her after the gang lived her last day with them. It makes me so sad, there’s a panel of him reminiscing on it too! But I don’t have it rn and QT comes out of no where and just ruins the moment for him smh

As for a pairing I want to see interact more? Prob baobao and Wang ye LMAO- I’m sure they do later on but I just think their first introduction wasn’t very fun for WY but I love the idea of him being kind of intimidated by her after that.

Another one I want to see further is between baobao and Lu Lin… (hope I spelt his name right) I find it very funny that he had a crush on her immediately from the start, she clearly doesn’t understand this concept but he tries anyway 😭🫶🏽

I watched I Am Nobody for the super pretty Hou Minghao, but every season it's the ladies who break my heart and make me cry.

I thought it's a comedic action fantasy drama, dammit!
