I have the terrible urge to write a new dragel series. There is one plot bunny that is being exceptionally persistent.
Le sigh.
As if…I do not already have several in progress. 😂😅

The reality that I am not, in fact, a dragel is honestly sickening
Hi! I love your stories and I'm looking for a drabble that I think you may have written? I can't find it and it's driving me crazy. You're my 2nd favorite author in this tiny slice of fandom (the first is Scion, lol), so I just assumed you wrote it. In this drabble, an oblivious pregnant Harry is being followed by Earth court gheyos because he's pregnant with Raspen/Theo's child. Was this you? Does it sound familiar?
Thank you! 😊 I don't think I've written that particular one, unfortunately. It sounds vaguely familiar for some reason, though... Someone else might have written it and posted it, since there's a fandom tag now! Hopefully it's there, because that sounds like something I'd love to read too, honestly.

Question: Do Merrow have any specific traditions or rituals?
Answer: In the "First Ink" Merrow Short Story that I have out, both on my Patreon and as an individual short, it follows one of those traditions--where young Merrow get a specific tattoo to allow them to travel/portal themselves where they need to be/to safety. This is to account for the shift where their magic may vanish (the usual dragel inheritance cycle where they're being rewired for the magical and physical upgrade), and it keeps children from 'vanishing'.
The exception for this, in the case of the LCOTM(Lost Children of The Merrow), is that the children have to be old enough for their bodies to handle the process/possible discomfort and to be able to articulate the activation for the spell. In the First Ink short story, we see an older sister taking her baby sibling to get the tattoos done and then to celebrate afterward, as that's a worthy milestone.
some Merrow that have extra features (a second set of eyes, dual ears, jaw that unhinges, tentacles or bioluminescent growths, etc), may have colorful or geometric styled tattoos to warn/highlight the fact and it is often done in colors that suit their scaled morph.
Baby's first scales, fangs, claws, are kept, and bespelled each year on the birthday, to turn them into extra potent magical ingredients that are unique to the individual, in case of a medical or magical emergency at some point in their life. When they use up the baby items (if at all), they contribute their best scales/fangs, etc. from their current year of life, so the set doesn't really get used up, just a bit of altered potentcy.
That's all I have off the top of my head for now. Apologies if there’s anything vaguely spoiler-ish in there. I do try to keep my answers spoiler-free, but I also get quite a bit of questions outside of the official discord Q&A’s and I’d rather not answer the same question all over again when I can put my muse to something else—like edits or a new chapter. This question was originally asked during a Q&A last year.
Thanks!

Question: How does a Suite and Courting for a Gheyo Submissive work? Is it traditional or is there specific ways in which they do Courtship or even Bonding. (IE: Subs usually do the triad first then maybe ACE and other ranks).
Is this the same for Gheyo Sub? Would they be drawn to only Gheyic Alphas or would regular Alpha/Beta work? On that question then, would Gheyo Submissive circles always be military inclined?
With Gheyo Sub, how do they differ instinct wise from Ferros? Beyond the feral aspect?
Answer: For the Feral vs Gheyo Sub—Feral are more anxious and prefer familiar things, places and people. They won’t venture off-realm unless forced or if they no longer feel “safe”.
A Feral aka Ferros Sub will usually bond to their most powerful or most soothing Bonded first. This is often the same person, but can be the first two in their Circle and largely depends on how grounded the Sub is.
Instincts-wise, they have strong perimeter awareness within a certain range. A Gheyo Sub has an aura awareness—the ability to discern who is friend or foe to determine whether they must fight.
Gheyo subs like to roam. They literally crave it. They want the challenge, the fight, always doing something new, etc. they are always restless and once they have enough bonded, they will either travel independently or get plenty of assignments that allow or require it.
They usually seek their triad first wanting a powerful Alpha and then seeking a compatible Beta and ACE. They will always challenge their more dominant Bonded to be sure that they are suited for each other. A happily suited Gheyo Alpha tends to be rather indulgent of their Sub and will often not show their true colors unless absolutely necessary.
A good example of this is Mariana and Jascha Cunningham(The Dragel’s Song) and Priya Dastalian and her Circle (The Dead-End Casefiles).
*question was slightly paraphrased for readability.
Question: Gheyo scars and marks?
Answer: *Gheyos bond just like any other ranked dragel, however, they like to have their marks in unusual places. It’s a point of pride for them. They love showing them off.
Traditional marks are alright, but Gheyos tend to wear whatever lets them move comfortably and/or be seen at their best.
A Gheyo Suite can have marks for each other (loyalty marks and claim marks, if they are trained by a famous gheyo, bc of the prestige it gives them. Think Dahlia or Mariana, their reputation gives any gheyo a good boost). But it’s not required.
Some Gheyos keep their scars on purpose. Example: Dahlia’s scar is from her training ACE, Lady Pai. The injury nearly killed her, but being one of the rare few to survive and at such a young age, she opted to keep it.
A Gheyo without scars could be wearing a glamour or is powerful enough to heal all injuries. The not knowing which it could be always works in their favor though a more experienced Gheyo can pick up on some of the nuance.
All non-gheyo ranks struggle to heal injuries and need help to get rid of any scars and marks. Some injuries can take decades to heal. Most Gheyos keep the ones they like as souvenirs/personal preference. If they can’t heal them, it’s still a testament that they survived, like with Ilsa’s wings or Dahlia’s scar and Wikhn’s scars, received before he came under her training wing.
