Cherik Forever 💕💕💕
Intimacy
The prompt “Intimacy” immediately made me think of the moment in X-Men Apocalypse when Erik instantly recognizes Charles’s mental touch, so, have a true (100 words exactly) drabble about it.
Erik had tried to stop thinking about Charles. They walked different paths now, no longer together but no longer at odds. That was enough. Erik focused on his family.
Then they were gone. And in the following chaos, the ancient mutant offering a new path, Erik tried harder than ever not to think of Charles.
But Charles thought of him. Charles touched his mind, shared his pain, loved him completely, close as his own heartbeat even from a world away. Apocalypse didn't know, Erik himself didn't know, but in that moment Apocalypse lost him. No one could compete with Charles.
The time to celebrate the mutant husbands has come!!

Cherikweek2020 is over, but my passion for them remains 💝
Ever since he moved back to New York, there’s a florist Charles visits every week without fail to buy tasteful, expensive flower arrangements. The recipient? His mother, Sharon Xavier. Sharon’s health had been failing for a long time now; she had never truly recovered from Brian Xavier’s death, or from all the manipulators who had taken advantage of her in her grief. Although she and Charles had been distant for years, Charles knows he will always regret it if he doesn’t make an attempt to reach out to Sharon before it’s too late. It's a slow, frustrating process, but his telepathy helps - it’s easier to keep going when he can feel the spark of affection Sharon still has for him, small and buried as it is. It helps too that the sight of delicate white blooms are one of the few things that can coax a smile from Sharon.
Erik always had a good relationship with his mother, but it’s hard to keep in touch when his legal work in Germany keeps him busy day and night. Advocating for mutants take priority over everything else - especially his personal life. But all the signs of a burnout are there, and when a serious bout of illness leaves Edie in need of long-term care, Erik’s firm strongly suggested that he take a period of leave before he crashes and burns and takes everyone down with him. Erik, more exhausted from the non-stop fighting than he’d care to admit, reluctantly agrees. Edie always had a fondness for plants, and it soon becomes tradition for Erik to drop by the florist’s every week.
Having been observant all his life, Erik can hardly fail to notice that he keeps running into the same person every week at the flower shop, especially when Mr. British Accent keeps buying the same bouquet week after week.
“You might want to change up your order sometime,” Erik can’t help but jibe after the fifth time, as the man is about to leave with another bouquet of white.
The man turns to face him, his eyes lighting up. “This is clearly a completely different bouquet!” He says in mock-indignation, looking entirely too excited at being addressed by a stranger.
Because, as it turns out, Erik isn’t the only observant person around. Charles had been fascinated by Erik’s mind since the first time he saw Erik studying a row of cheerful daffodils with an intensity that borders on terrifying, but he had been wary of approaching when Erik had already been under so much stress from the sudden move to New York and Edie’s fluctuating condition.
But now that the ice had been broken between them, Charles is curious to see how things will go -- even if he knows anything that blooms between them will be transient.
(Happy Cherik week! This was written for the Day Three prompt: Flower Shop. I finally decided to dip my toes into trying to make photosets, hope people enjoy!)
