Cherri is such a sweetheart. I love her friendship with Angel, especially considering he’s 100% alright with receiving physical affection from her compared to being on edge when others touch him.

ANGEL DUST, certified "They have to suffer more than Jesus" character
i'm thinking about Cherri saying she's "done this before." how many times do you think she's picked Angel up when he's high and hurting? do you think she brought him back to her place? do you think she cleaned the puke and who knows what else? do you think she put Fat Nuggets on his lap so he'd calm down? do you think she cried because she knew she'd have to do it all again soon?
Platonic Ships FINAL ROUND
Angel Dust & Cherri Bomb 🕷️🍒
Alastor & Niffty 🦌🧹
Rosie & Alastor 🥀🦌 are OUT!
At this point the relationships in the hotel to me are just Charlie and Vaggie then everyone else in a polycule except for Niffty who is placed firmly in the cuck chair (she's watching everyone and everything secretly from the vents)
Hazbin shipping really boils down to
Is this relationship wildly toxic?
Yes ✅
But are they also the only people who could possibly understand each other?
Also yes ✅✅✅
The reveal that Angel Dust has unknowingly been feeding information on Charlie, the Hazbin Hotel, its residents and all the events surrounding them to Vox since "Masquerade". Given how much the spider-demon has come to care for the hotel and everyone there, this has to be heart-breaking for Angel to realise that he's betrayed them all - even unknowingly.
Poor Angel's already in a deal with Valentino which means his soul and body aren't entirely his anymore, but at least he still had his mind. Now Vox has just proven that not even that belongs to Angel anymore.
After being mind-controlled to spy on the hotel, denounce it to all of Hell, and trying to choke Cherri to death, Angel is utterly broken and willingly goes back to Val, believing himself to be nothing but a danger to everyone around him. It's already bad enough that one sinister look from Val is enough to steer the shaken Angel back to the Vees, but Angel, one of the many guests who have been by Charlie's side, labelling himself as a traitor to the Hotel is shocking.
When Angel leaves out of fear for his friends' safety, Husk begs him not to go. Once Angel is gone, Husk looks absolutely crushed, still quietly pleading with Angel to come back. The equally devastated Cherri can only place her hands over Husk's shoulder and tell him that Angel will eventually return, but it's clear that they are upset, especially when Angel asks them to forget about him.
Even when things seem to look up, the next time we see them, Husk and Cherri are crestfallen and quiet over Angel's absence. Husk is tending to Fat Nuggets in his care and Cherri can only look around wistfully before glancing at Sir Pentious' picture. They truly miss him that much and Charlie's voiceover carries their felt sorrow.
It's quite telling that Angel turns down Husk's and Cherri's pleas to return to the Hotel, the people who have understood him for a long time and could have been the ones to intervene in the abuse and self-sabotaging he faces. He could also shoot down anyone else's suggestions, but if Charlie tries to step in, there's no doubt that Angel would blow her off immediately. Worse, he might deny Charlie's desire to make amends with him for her earlier behavior. The news of his departure must be crushing to her, and despite having reasons not to trust her, Angel wouldn't be happy leaving her, either.
Even Cherri tries to tell him that he does have a choice. However, Angel doesn't. To him, his last free choice was giving his soul to Valentino. It's more painful when you remember that his actions of staying at the hotel, supporting Charlie's dreams of redemption and nearly sacrificing himself to save Husk a couple of episodes ago are his choices, not anyone else's. None of what he was forced to do by the Vees was his fault. Yet, the mind control, the forced drug influence and whatever Vox and Valentino did to him has left him so thoroughly broken that he still sees himself as a burden.
Another layer of tragedy to this is that he's saying this in front of Husk who is, at that point, still under Alastor's leash. On the one hand, Angel's belief isn't wrong and Alastor could do whatever he wants with Husk as much as Valentino could with Angel. But, on the other hand, we've seen Angel and Husk being the many who cater and protect those around them without any prompting from their 'owners'. Now, Husk is left thinking about the circumstances of oneself selling their soul to an overlord.
