I'm going to be seeing TADC: The Last Act tomorrow after and I'm very excited for it. I won't be posting any overt spoilers until after the finale airs on YouTube on the 19th, and if I post anything that I think might be somewhat spoiler-y but is still fairly vague, I will still both tag the post with both TADC Spoilers and The Last Act Spoilers, as well as put the spoiler-possible stuff underneath a "read more".

Total Drama really is one of those fandoms for me where it kind of goes dormant in my mind for months at a time and then suddenly crawls out of hibernation at random and I just want to talk about it. Or, at least, talk about the seasons I have any sort of real connection to (Island, Revenge of the Island, and Ridonculous Race mostly but I can at least talk about Action, World Tour, All-Stars, and Pahkitew Island) and even certain fanfics and the like.

Though I will confess to being fairly picky about Total Drama fics because I kind of tend to try and avoid any fics that break up at least most of the ships from the first season....plus the whole issue of me not really being that big a fan of a lot of popular fan-couples, most notably either Noah with Cody or Noah with Katie.

I actually think it's really cool that this is the first short that we've really gotten a fairly clear idea of where it takes place in the timeline, as well as the first short that definitely takes place prior to the current point in the show's timeline?

Hell's Belles is arguably completely ambiguous since we never seen Blitzo, and the same argument could be made for Whacked Off since while we see Blitzo, I don't think we can tell if he's got the crystal or not. And all the others I think are just ambiguous "Sometime post-Full Moon" because Blitzo has the crystal but it's unclear if they take place pre- or post Mastermind/Sinsmas,

Where this is still slightly vague but does seem to have taken place very shortly after Unhappy Campers. Maybe not immediately, but probably at least within a couple days of the ending of that episode.

I tried watched the Total Drama Island revival and....I just couldn't finish it. I got like halfway through the first season/part and just completely lost interest.

Yeah, it's very flawed in a few ways:

They're definitely marketing it more towards kids than to teens like the original seasons did. Every season's been getting a little more child friendly each time, but it's extra noticeable here.

Poor pacing. We don't have a lot of time focused on each contestant, their bonds, or their developments because we're just rushing to get to the end as soon as possible. It used to feel like we were allowed to CHILL with these characters each season, but not anymore.

It's become TOO cartoonish. Like, there's an episode where a Raptor exists. Not a robot or a mutant raptor, just a straight up raptor. It's too insane, even for a show that had an artificial island one season.

I feel like the writers are sneaking a few too many fetishes. The fart episode is the first to come to mind where they do a Marilyn Monroe bit with a girl farting so bad her skirt almost flies up or how this and the next season's penultimate episode focused a little TOO long on girls getting wedgies for it to be uncomfortable. Add that with the fact that these are fucking TEENAGERS, and it's really, REALLY messed up.

It really doesn't help that I don't find most of the characters or their dynamics all that interesting or likable? Maybe in part due to the poor pacing, but these characters feel extremely one-note and as a result, their dynamics don't interest me, either?

Getting back into Babysitters Club through both rewatching the Netflix series and reading the graphic novels is a bit of a trip, I'm not going to lie.

Though reading the graphic novel for "Mallory and the Trouble with Twins" does kind of make me think about how I can't help but feel like Marilyn and Carolyn come across as a bit...unintentionally unsympathetic? The big plot point of the book is that they want to be treated an individuals and don't like how everyone just sees them as a set....but then they seem to take forever to explain that to anyone? For most of the book, they just intentionally act like brats to everyone, even people who did nothing wrong, because Mallory (who literally just met them) can't tell them apart without their bracelets and made an entirely innocent comment about how it was cute how similar they looked.

I really do have to wonder what Carmilla was thinking when she saw this feed, especially when it's revealed that she presumably always knew Vaggie was a former Exorcist? Not that I'd think she would be concerned because I think she'd be confidant she could take Vaggie out if it turned out she did want revenge for her fallen "sister".

Little premature to be making that promise, isn't it, Alastor? Not only do you presumably not know how Carmilla killed the Exorcist in the last Extermination, but you also currently have no way of knowing if she's going to be willing to give that information up, or provide the necessary resources even if she does. Especially enough to arm the number of Cannibals you'd need for this plan to have even a chance of working.

I legitimately did a double take when Charlie said the Extermination was happening next month because I was thinking it was sooner....but then I realized that this episode presumably has to start at most a few hours to maybe a day after the end of the previous one.

Yeah, that adds to the confused feeling, because while I can buy that some time passes between the two episodes, it does not feel like it's been a month?

Granted, nothing is as bad as the first half of the season, where we either covered about 5 months between like, episodes 3 and 4, or those four episodes took place relatively close together, and then we suddenly skip multiple months between episodes 4 and 5.

So, I randomly decided to check out the Total Drama Comeback/Battlegrounds TV Tropes page (because I honestly really like to look at pages for fanworks in particular, maybe in part because I hope my own fics will eventually get on there) and in the Trivia section I find out that apparently in 2022 the author both revealed some plot points that would have happened if the story had continued.....though didn't answer everything which makes me wonder if either they haven't completely given up potentially coming back to it, or if they literally just didn't have everything planned from the start?

The closer we get to finally finding out if Millie is going to keep her pregnancy or not (because I do feel like it will be revealed in the first week of the new season starting, whether it happens in the first episode or maybe they do a double feature with episodes 1 and 2 premiering on the same day), the more I realize I have this sort of weird thought process on the whole thing where I think Millie having the pregnancy would be really interesting and could lead to a decent amount of good character development for her and Moxxie, and even bring in some lore for the world, without having to necessarily risk them taking away screentime from other characters.

But....I can't help but be skeptical about how things would be handled once there was an actual baby. Because once there's an actual baby, the writing has to decide what to do about it, unless they do some kind of cop-out and do something like have the baby be put up for adoption. And I think the writing of Helluva Boss is generally very good for the most part. I don't know if I have complete faith they could include this baby in the cast without at least a serious risk of it kind of taking over the show or other character's storylines in some way.

Not yet! Kind of dreading it- I dunno what it is, exactly, but something about overtly sexual music makes me cringe 95% of the time, and I just KNOW Chaz is gonna stuff as many innuendos into two-three min as he can.

I haven't watched the music video, but I have listened to the song and it honestly is just like Chaz auto-tune singing about how he wants to have sex with people and how he's got two dicks for three minutes. And it's literally only just like...one verse that they repeat.

So, yeah, really don't know why they made that count as a short and didn't just release it as a "bonus" video, especially when it was apparently made as an appreciation/thank you for Chaz fans?
