You know something folks don't often talk about with Self Aware AUs that I really think more people should discuss when writing about it? Sequence breaking. Specifically the inherent sequence breaking that comes with Gacha games allowing you to meet characters that you haven't met yet in the story if you haven't played that far ahead.
For example, I actually just started playing CRK nearly 2 weeks ago after watching a bunch of animations and cutscenes about the latest Beast Yeast episode online, right? And as a result, I got enough F2P currency from being a new user to get, in this exact order: Pure Vanilla Cookie, then Black Sapphire Cookie, then the soul jams to awaken PV, then Shadow Milk Cookie. All of this happened before GingerBrave canonically met any of them.
So basically Shmilk woke up one day, was out of the tree he was trapped in for what felt like an eternity, appeared in some random small kingdom, sees PV who was now all glowy and angelic and hanging out with his minion for some reason, who immediately walks up to him and says something like, "Hey man. I experienced enlightenment and I have no idea how. But through context clues from The Baker, I think I just ruined your entire corruption arc you had planned for me? Sorry about that. You wanna beat up some cake monsters as these children learn the dark lore of our existences?"
I don't think PV talks like that, but you get the picture. I like the idea of accidentally ruining the entire plotline by having some lucky gacha pulls~
✧ SHADOW MILK COOKIE would be ecstatic about finally being released from the Silver Tree, and with a physical form no less? All so far ahead of schedule? Oh, he was over the moon! But where was he? This wasn't that silly faerie kingdom. As a matter of fact, was he even still on Beast-Yeast?
✧ In the context of the story the existence of the Cookie Kingdom is, well, horrifying. New cookies being summoned were a common occurrence within its walls, from different regions, time periods, and even ones that had crumbled long ago. After a certain point the ruler of the kingdom started finding ways to allow cookies to adjust to their new life, but of course that system didn't work for everyone.
"For the last time, I do not want to join your silly kingdom! Where are my minions? And where on Earthbread am I?"
✧ He'd be livid that his powers don't work here for some reason, safe for a couple of things like summoning a plush rabbit of all things. Why was he being reduced to this mockery? Who was turning a former almighty cookie into an equal to the foolish cookies who lived here? Seriously, is that mask-wearing buffoon always lifting something?
✧ He'd eventually comply, albeit reluctantly, because after a while he'd realize there's no point in resisting the inevitable. You held the power here, over everyone, and for the first time in years there he felt completely powerless.
“Do you enjoy seeing me kneel before you? Do you find pleasure in watching me be reduced to this?! I’m the one holding the strings, I AM NO PUPPET!”
“Why are you yelling at the sky?”
✧ At some point you’re forced to talk to him directly since he was causing troubles for the other cookies with his ramblings and general abrasion.
“You, YOU! You’re the one who did this to me! I was happier inside of that stupid tree than I am here! Why me? Why not one of the others? Why did you decide to torture me like this?”
“I dunno, the gacha just picked you I guess.”
“What are you talking about?!”
✧ He’d become even more upset when you explain the gacha to him and, by extension, the fact that their entire world was technically a game. So his current situation was entirely chance. You sent him away after that, promising that you’d build a few structures for him in return for good behavior.
“Wow, this is humiliating. Why am I being stuck cutting wood? I’m a jester not a lumberjack…”
“Shadow Milk Cookie!”
✧ Being reunited with his minions was nice, for a short while, it gave him some sense of normalcy throughout the newfound confusion. Because at least he wasn't alone during this. That Distorted Tower you promised seemed that nice, and you weren't that bad he supposed. It could've been worse…wait. Was that Pure Vanilla Cookie? Why was he glowing?
“Oh, hello again! I believe I experienced enlightenment during your absence. I’m not too sure on the details, outside of that spire, but I’m grateful we’re meeting in better circumstances. It’s nice to see you be given a chance at redemption.”
✧ SHADOW MILK COOKIE may have shed his title as the "Fount of Knowledge" long ago, but he wasn't a fool. He could recognize that there was a force pulling the strings through Earthbread, reducing even him into a puppet. Granting wishes from a tree, summoning items to help a broken down kingdom flourish, it was far too interesting.
✧ But when he met you face to face, you were simply, a cookie, no different from any fool he'd encountered. But how could YOU be the one giving him so much trouble? You were weak, feeble, and another cookie that stood beside that thief. There was no way you were "Baker". He could've sworn you’d dismissed the idea one or twice.
✧ You doted on Gingerbrave and the rest of those freshly baked so-called heroes like you were their parent. You had so much compassion for them, it was stupid. He had to admit though, you weren't a complete moron. You were suspicious of Candy Apple Cookie while she was still in her disguise! Almost like you already knew her true identity.
✧ Did you already know? Come to think of it, you were never as surprised as the rest when things transpired…
✧ Oh. OH! You were Baker! You were lying to everyone this whole time? Posing as a common cookie to avoid your true purpose?! Did they even know the extent of your knowledge?! What a twist! You were such a great actor you almost had him fooled. He didn't even need to corrupt you because you had already fallen so far.
✧ After reaching that conclusion he was much more focused on your antics. He wanted to find out how you’d landed in Earthbread and what made you tick. He admired your reactions, your words (full of deceit no doubt), and every other facet of your being, like a fine gem.
✧ Come to think of it, he was already stealing away Pure Vanilla’s soul jam wasn't he? Why not take away his dear friend as well? You’d surely be a fine addition to his little group, and having a powerful being such as you would make his work so much easier. It’d be especially worth it to see the look on those cookies’ faces.
“Don't harm my friends Shadow Milk Cookie! I won't let you do anything to them you beast!”
Can you do a cookie run kingdom self aware au where you (the player) can't safely digest anything that they eat there as it's all practical sugar so it makes them vary sick
✿ EARTHBREAD is a land of sweets both sentient and inanimate, a paradise of confections of all kinds. The cuisine, infrastructure, and culture are all sugary sweet. Unfortunately for you though it's the farthest thing from a paradise, it's hell.
✿ Within the Cookie Kingdom practically everything you eat is at least partially sweet. Whether it be bread, jampies, croissants, and even the pasta somehow, sugar is involved. You're constantly ill and it's pure torture. All you want is to experience something else.
"Why is this burger sweet? It's a burger!"
"Well, we use Bear Jellies to create the perfect bun. It takes perfect temperature control and-"
"COME ON!"
✿ Eventually you visit other neighboring kingdoms, all of which have more of the same. Sweet berry juice, sweet vanilla tea, if you still had normal teeth you're positive they would've rotted out by now. But you bite your tongue, as though to not offend anyone. That is, until you visit the Dark Cacao Kingdom.
"I apologize Baker, I understand that our traditional food is rather...bitter. I can request something more palatable if it's not to your liking."
"I have been eating nothing but sugar for months, I will welcome any other flavor at this point."
✿ To everyone's surprise you actually enjoy the bitter food, since it's a nice chance of pace. Apparently sugar is an important part of a cookie's diet, so the fact that you both don't need it as much and can't consume large amounts of it is a surprise.
✿ You're a huge hit within the Mala Tribe if you have a high tolerance of spicy food. Where most cookies would perish by simply smelling their food you rival even the most spicy cookies when it comes to your meals. You might even invited to some events held at Scovillia because of the intense arrangement of food they have.
"Eh, are you sure you want to eat that much Baker? You're crying a lot."
"If it doesn't hurt it's not worth it!"
✿ It's safe to say you spend a lot of time outside of the kingdom to satisfy your palate.
⟡ EARTHBREAD was no stranger to knights, great warriors, and protectors of the realm from all kinds. But you, you weren't from this realm at all, and so many different cookies wanted to protect you from the world you found yourself in. You, however, were much more willing to do the protecting.
⟡ Knight Cookie in particular would be ecstatic that you were a knight like him (which is no surprise), and having a suit of armor yourself? He'd have so many questions about them. What are they made of? How long have you had them? Can he try them on? There would probably be some differences from our world and theirs, naturally, but he'd listen intently all the same.
"I'm not sure my lance is as impressive as your sword, Baker."
"It's not the weapon that matters Knight Cookie, it's the wielder that makes a difference."
⟡ Your intensive knowledge of Medieval History would probably catch the eyes of some scholars. After all the history of the realm you come from is important. Even if you might get a little carried away.
"Sir William Marshall was said to be the greatest knight that ever lived for his great combat skills. He actually served five English kings throughout his lifetime. And he was the only man to ever unhorse Richard I according to some sources!"
"Baker, I appreciate your enthusiasm but I asked what you wanted for lunch."
⟡ Your sword skills would make you victim to constant requests for sparring matches with the best warriors around. They don't want to hurt you of course, but the chance to battle with the greatest knight around is too good of an opportunity to miss.
"I challenge you a duel Baker! I shall prove to you my strength and honor!"
"Raspberry Cookie you're a very good fencer but please, it's 3am."
⟡ The Cookie Kingdom didn't only have a benevolent ruler, but a protector as well. A knight donning a suit of armor and blade from another world entirely, full of magic beyond mortal comprehension. Some say that if you find yourself in danger near its walls, you'll be saved by this knight, and they'll leave as swiftly as they appeared.
Hello. I saw your request open and I'd like to request Self aware fic about White Lily Cookie having existenial crisis about how her whole life, the truth behind cookie creation was scripted. She would be wary about the player at first but eventually get comfortable enough to talk/hang out with them. The rest is up to you. Thank you in advance!

❀ WHITE LILY COOKIE would be one of the first cookies to become self aware after discovering the truth of the witches and the reason behind her own kind's creation. That doesn't mean she'd be happy about it though.
❀ There was a being inside of the Cookie Kingdom that oversaw all of Earthbread? And they believed the entire world to be nothing but a game? It was horrifying. The implications would plague her mind for a long time. So much so that eventually she'd visit the kingdom herself.
“The Tree of Wishes? I didn't know there was a cookie that granted wishes here.” She stood next to the tree, watching as little blueberry birds brought wrapped gifts to eager cookies. “It’s unlike anything I’ve seen before.”
“No, the wishes are granted by Baker!”
“Who?"
❀ She was surprised that all the cookies spoke so highly of you. From clearing the local area to allow expansion, overseeing all trade with other regions, and even granting wishes it seemed. But how? How could a being such as yourself be so kind and down-to-earth when you were a witch? Were you a witch?
❀ From her understanding many different kingdoms had their own interpretation of what exactly you were. A kind of celestial being? A dragon? A guardian of a realm cookies could never hope to reach? There were so many theories but none of them ever seemed to explain everything about you. You were so strange but so far out of reach that she might never know.
“I just don't understand. Why would a being like that be so kind to a cookie? It doesn't make sense.”
“Why don’t you ask them yourself?”
❀ She knew Gingerbrave had a good head on his shoulders, but he was still so young. Did he believe he could speak to you? It was a thought that could only come from the mind of an innocent child.
❀ That’s what she thought until he brought you to her. You were a cookie, at least now anyway from what she gathered, and were the unofficial monarch of the entire Cookie Kingdom. You’d only been there a short while, hiding your true nature and only revealing to a short few within the kingdom’s domain. Including Gingerbrave who probably shouldn't have told her.
“But I don't understand why you hide your true identity. You’re such an important figure for the entirety of Earthbread, you deserve much more than what you have now.”
“I don't need much. I just like watching over these guys, y’know? Besides, I’m just a normal person, there’s nothing special about me.”
❀ Nothing special? You were so humble! You did so much for everyone and didn't ask for anything in return. She’d keep your secret for you of course, but she’d wanted to learn so much more about you.
Wind archer cookie x reader who constantly gets lost in the forest ! He always has to guide them back to the original path since they just casually wander around and disappear for hours at a time. (Readers personality could be the opposites of wind archer. Talkative, bubbly, extroverted blah blah blah.)
As the wind passed through the forest trees, howling in warning, you’re only further reminded of just how lost you were. The light of the moon above cuts past the leaves, leaving you with only a few dots of light illuminating the path. You’d never strayed far from your home before, scared of what may be waiting for you within the forest. Your cake hound, however, had no such fear, fleeing into the woods when he discovered the front door was unlocked. Many cookies traveled to the forest’s edges but never entered. You didn't know much of the legends, and all of them seemed to contradict one another, but they all spoke against traversing into the woods, lest you wish never to be seen again.
The wind grew relentless, shaking the tall trees above you, growing harsher by the minute. But you didn't falter, you couldn't, not with the knowledge that your dear pet was left alone hanging over your head like the blade of a guillotine. You pulled the hood of your cloak down further and continued your journey before you paused.
Where was the path? You felt leaves crunching underneath your feet, replacing the bricks that were there before. You’d gone so deep into the forest that you couldn't even see your home, or any building for that matter. You were completely alone.
You heard a twig crack in the distance, another cookie? But upon further inspection, you noticed it was only a small bird. You stood there in disappointment as you watched it get startled and fly away.
That is until you heard a bark.
You turn around to see your precious hound running towards you. You were excited to have him in your arms again, barking with as much excitement as you had, that you didn't notice the figure watching you in the distance.
“He’s your friend?” You looked towards the source of the voice, a cookie shrouded in darkness, except for the shining emerald on his forehead. A scarf covered his mouth, its ends flowing in the wind. “You should be more careful, the forest is no place for those corrupted by darkness.”
“Excuse me?” You paused for a moment. “Are you talking about him? He’s just a cake hound, how could you think this face could be one of evil.” You held your pet face up to the figure, his eyes shining with innocence as though to prove your point.
“I see,” He paused, still slightly tensed by your hound’s presence. You were used to it at this point, most people couldn't understand why you’d take in one of her creations, but you didn't care. “Still, you should be more careful.”
“I won't let him out of my sight again, I promise you.” You looked up at the cookie once more. “Who are you exactly? I’ve never heard of any cookie willing to enter here.”
“I’m the protector of the forest, it’s my duty to prevent trespassers from entering.” He stared down at you, his gaze hardening slightly. “Including you.”
“I didn't mean to trespass!” You pleaded and, sensing your distress, your hound growled at him. “I just came to get him back, honest!” You backed away slightly.
“I won't bring harm to you, since you have pure intentions. But please, leave this land and don't return.”
Before you could say anything else the cookie before you disappeared into the wind, as though he was never there at all. You held your dear friend in your arms, oblivious to him trying to get your attention. Because you could've sworn he blushed for a moment before vanishing.
—
“Oh, Wind Archer Cookie!” You walked down the path again, with your hound close behind you on a leash. You were grateful you got such a good deal on it, the other ones were too itchy for him. You could feel the leaves crunching under your feet, there were so many on the ground that you could barely see where the path was. You pulled your scarf just slightly over your face as a bit of wind went into your face, making the autumn leaves around you swirl and dance in the air. He was here. “There you are, I was worried you weren’t going to show up.”
“I’m never too far you know,” You couldn’t see his whole face but you could tell he was smiling. “You got him a new leash?”
“Yeah, the other one was too itchy for him. A traveling merchant let me get a good deal on it.” Your cake hound barked in agreement, “He was very excited to see what you thought of it.”
“It suits him.” Wind Archer came close and placed a hand on his head, “It’s good you got him a leash at all. He’s too adventurous for his own good. You both have that in common.”
“If I wasn’t adventurous I never would have met you. And,” You pulled out a small bag from your pocket, “I’d never be able to give you this.” You handed the bag to him and watched as he carefully opened it.
“What is this?” He held a box in his hands.
“It’s a lunch box, I put it together for you since I’ve never seen you eat anything.”
“You do realize I don’t need to eat right?”
“Just because you don’t need to eat something doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it. Besides, my cooking isn't terrible, just promise me you’ll try it alright?” You looked up at him, hopeful.
“I didn’t say I wouldn’t try it. I trust you wouldn’t poison me.” He placed the box in the bag he had with him. He made it a habit because you always brought him something. You insisted upon it, even though he didn’t understand why. “Thank you.”
“No problem, it’s the least I could do since you help me find my way home all the time.”
“You do realize you’re off the path again, right?”
You stopped for a second, looking down at your feet and realizing that in fact, you had stumbled off the path some time ago. The leaves had completely covered the path, so much so that you hadn’t noticed at all.
“How didn’t I notice? It’s almost nightfall, I'm so stupid.” You were about to hit your hand against your face before another one caught it.
“You’re not stupid. A bit oblivious, sure, but not stupid. I’ll help you get back home, consider it a thank you for the gift.”
“You don’t have to, you know.”
“I don’t mind being your guide. I’m the protector of the forest and its inhabitants, including you.” He kept his hold on your hand and he walked you through the forest, your hound walking not too far behind.
No matter how many times you strayed off the path, he’d always help you find your way home. As long as the wind blows.
Long before the fallen heroes disappeared from the land of Earthbread, there were legends of a being unlike any witch in existence. An entity that could grant powers beyond comprehension to even the smallest cookie, and could crumble even the most powerful, and despite no evidence ever supporting this, this tale had very few skeptics. And he wouldn’t dare to be one of them.
But alas, as he continued his journey through the western sky, attempting to find the wizards that had a hand in creating him, he couldn’t stop thinking about that same being. Perhaps that’s what led him to the infamous Cookie Kingdom, founded by that young gingerbread cookie and his friends. For a cookie so fresh to create something so beautiful was incredible to him.
"So, any cookie is welcome here?" He asked, looking down at the young cookies beside him.
“Of course!” Gingerbrave smiled, “There are all kinds of cookies living here now, you’ll find your people here eventually, you just gotta look around a bit.”
It took a lot longer than “a bit.”
Most of the other cookies were uneased by his presence, the only exceptions being the ones who already knew, but the young cookie insisted that he’d find someone eventually. He sat on the swings- berry churro swings Gingerbrave had called them- questioning whether coming here was a good idea at all.
“Hey, you doing okay there?” He looked over to see a cookie standing in front of him, somehow not even slightly intimidated by his existence. “You looked like you could use a friend.”
"Yes, I'm having a bit of trouble in that department. The others here are, unnerved by me."
“Did Gingerbrave invite you here?” The cookie sat on the swing next to him, “The kid means well, but he probably should’ve eased them into this first. I mean it was a wild day when the ancients first started coming around here. I wish I could have helped a bit with that Stardust.” He gripped the swing chain a bit harder.
“How do you know my name?!”
“Oh right…” They smiled, although he could tell there was something beneath it. “I’m sorry, somebody must’ve told me your name. I’m [Name] if that helps.”
"I suppose it does," He sighed, "I apologize for my outburst. That was unbecoming of me."
“Nah it’s alright, I get it. First impressions are always hard, you should’ve seen me when I met Hollyberry for the first time, lost my marbles!” The cookie was very talkative, but he supposed his voyage across the cosmos made him appreciate a good conversation once in a while. Their ramble was cut short by two children approaching them, one a young girl donning pumpkin-themed attire and the other a young boy in a blue jumpsuit and helmet.
“Oh, hey kiddos, you guys need something?”
“We just wanted to ask you to join us, Pom-Pom and I were planning on throwing a party.”
“Yeah!” Gumball Cookie pointed at his gumball cannon, “I’m thinking of helping with the decorations, but I dunno which color gumballs to use.”
“Alright, alright, I’ll come over in a minute. I’m just welcoming our new friend here.”
"That's okay, they seem like they need you right now." The cookie smiled at him, gesturing him to follow them as they helped the children.
They ended up deciding on a spring theme, pink and green to signal the beginning of the season. They were so patient with them both, talking to them as though they were their parent. They were such a nurturing soul with a shining aura, almost as though they were-
Hey I got a cute request for you! Can I have white lily going on a little picnic with reader please? She is just so soft and sweet and she deserves some happy time!
❀ WHITE LILY COOKIE didn't lie when she said she wanted to learn everything about you. While her original curiosity was more about your existence, she slowly learned more about you as an individual. Your relationships with other cookies, your favorite place to get food, among other things. So she’d find any excuse to talk to you, which grew more hard as your kingdom required more and more of your attention.
❀ While she strolled through the kingdom she noticed a small table sitting in the garden. It was unattended, but it had been used as a picnic table moments prior, if the leftover crumbs on it were any indication. Perfect! She could use that as a foundation for you both to meet up!
❀ She left a note for you with lovely calligraphy, explaining that she wished for you to meet her underneath the cherry blossom tree in the park.
“What’s all this? You didn't have to do this for me.”
“I wanted an excuse to see you again, besides, I’ve heard lovely things from the cake shop. The sugar gnomes said you left plenty of nice recipes for them.”
❀ She asked you a lot of questions over tea, clarification on certain things, your life before living in the kingdom, but as the conversation continued it moved towards more personal ones, as it always did, but you didn't mind.
“You know, you don't have to plan stuff like this to hang out with me. If you had simply asked I’d have joined you.”
“I know, but you deserve nice things Baker, you do so much for everyone else. It’s only fair you get something in return.”
“You know you don't have to call me that right? You can just call me [Name].”
