“my name’s sherri but people call me cherry ‘cause of my hair” no they call her cherry because in first grade sodapop curtis read her name out loud wrong because he was dyslexic and couldn’t wrap his head around the difference between the “sh” and “ch” sounds and the rest of the class made fun of him so she stood up for him and proudly announced her name would be cherry from then on and it stuck

You know ships with Ponyboy or Sodapop the names are either so uncreative or actually pretty interesting

Like most ships with Sodapop it's like "Stevepop" or "Johnnypop" but comparing that to a ship name that's literally called "Cherrycola"

Then Ponyboy just put the "boy" part at the end of them all and I get why it's easier but ship names like "Markboy" or "Cherryboy" Which is fine but compared to the other side of the spectrum that literally has ship names like "RustedGold" or "Purly"

I'm not asking to be that creative because simple is sometimes better but come on We can literally just change "Markboy" to "Fever dream" and it sounds so much more creative
