For anyone who can’t get a binder: (no sewing required!!)
Going to a concert tonight and therefore can’t wear my binder (it has metal in it so i think it’d set off the metal detectors and like. vest with metal is. bit suspicious. also yeah yeah ik i shouldn’t be wearing a binder with hooks but it’s all i have) so i’m wearing the “binder” i made for myself a years ago before i got one that’s actually good and ngl i forgot how well this one works! it’s not as good as a proper binder but it looks fine under a looseish shirt!
so i shall share 12 year old me’s method of binding:
-> get yourself some of those waist control type tights ( the nude coloured ones for wearing under dresses like these (except mine are rlly cheap like £2 from primark)
-> cut the legs of the tight and make a whole in the crothc bit of the tights
-> get a very small swimming costume that’s like age 5-6 if you’re an A or B and maybe a bit bigger if you’re a C or above, in whatever colour or pattern you want but mines just plain black
-> cut the bottom half of the swimsuit off and cut the top bit to be the length you want
-> get a plain tank top (not spaghetti straps) that’s quite tight
-> put on the tights like a t-shirt with the waist control bit across your chest (adjust so you’re comfortable)
->put the swimming costume top half on like a t-shirt (again- adjust until comfortable)
->put the tank top over the top!
It’s actually v comfortable (not good in summer tho bc it’s very layers) and can be worn all day without getting achey ribs (becomes less effective throughout the day tho bc it stretches)
hope this was at least somewhat useful!
