#chevron hat

I'm making Eliot's hat from The Gone Fishing Job. Might write out a proper pattern eventually, but for now it's 172 stitches (170 for pattern, 2 for seam allowance) in 3x1 ribbing until cry. My swatches of the chevron pattern taught me that keeping track of knit/purl chevrons in flat mode is Terrible, so I'm hoping it'll be easier in the round.

Needles: size 2 40" long circular

Yarn: Knitting For Olive fingering weight merino in Plum Clay (shockingly hard to find the right colour in fingering/sock weight)

Gauge: 7 stitches per inch
