in which carlos is served divorce papers, hate-watches his husband’s leaked sex tape, and ruminates about his wedding vows.

warnings: cheating, cuckolding and unprotected sex, masturbation, angst, and poorly disguised metaphors.

The papers are served to him on the golf course, when he’s about to double-bogey a par four. In retrospect, he should’ve known this was coming - he hadn’t exactly been the most attentive of husbands lately, but for Charles to insist on a divorce, when they’d barely been married for three years, was just ridiculous.

He abandons the game, and calls him - and, not surprisingly, it goes to voicemail, because Charles is and has always been awful at confrontation. “Could’ve served them to me yourself, asshole,” he says, voice low - a simmering rage that he keeps in control for now. “You better have a good fucking reason for this.”

L - Light pierces Charles’ vision when he rouses long after what can be called anything close to morning.

I - It is only when he starts to feel his stomach churning and sweat gathering at his temples that he begins to recognize his symptoms.

G - Getting back in the garage takes some time, but once there Alessandro supervises the packing away of Charles’ car while Andrea and Charles–on his own feet–head over to Fred.

H - He–-he cannot remember doing this. 

T - The press are already circling like vultures, encroaching and hoping for a repeat feast of last year's drama in Qatar.

C - “Charles Leclerc, submissive Formula One Driver, Collapses After Abu Dhabi GP”

A - Alessandro removes the HANS device and steering wheel then fully unbuckles Charles’s seatbelt. His sure and steady hands make quick work of the straps. 

Without the belt’s support, Charles lists to the side of his monocoque, pathetically unable to hold himself up. 

T - Things have been strained between them lately, between his racing schedule and the escalating intensity of her studies. But now, they finally have a couple of weeks just the two of them before the next race in Austin.

S - Saying no to her has never been something he is good at.

It took longer than anticipated because life got in the way but I've finally posted chapter 6 of As It Should Be.

In the aftermath of Lewis and Charles's fight, Lewis grapples with accusations made and old wounds ripped open. Unsure of where to go next, reinforcements call themselves in.
