tfw all you want is a crispy chicken salad and every restaurant in the entire city of Topeka closes at like 10/11 pm. Denny’s here I come..
i love when chickens scratch at the dirt. oh BABEY i want to hold you like a little hamburger i love you, you funky little bird!!!!!!!!!!
The best thing about America restaurants is the huge portion sizes - she says happily having her third meal from one order
So going to the in laws was not as bad as i thought. i brought knitting and never broke it out. everyone was pleasant and the food was great and we had a lot of fun. (oh, and apparently, i get to take home ALL the chicken. nobody else wanted it. And there was a lot too...i’m not arguing!) of course, the 2 hour ride there while my hubby slept in the car and THAT was the moment i was hit with all sorts of inspiration on how to write my next chapter of my story. i’m designing dialogue in my head - WITH LITERALLY no way to get it down and safe!
And - AAAAAAND!!! - I finally wrapped around the plot i’d been dancing around for the last - what, 2 weeks? I knew it was there. i knew i was building towards it. i knew what it would involve at least a little bit, but couldn’t figure out the grander scheme.
it fell into place today. trying to write down shorthand so i can work on it off and on while i’m getting ready for the con. i hope i didn’t anything since i wasn’t able to get near my computer for over 6 hours...
Me as I'm putting chicken leftovers in the fridge: Chicken. Good!
Husband: Well, yeah. It was pretty tasty.
Me: ...
Me: Darling, we gonna watch Fifth Element until you know your references.
Chicken. GOOD.
