I hope you enjoy it!! Honestly I hate myself for not being able to stop Sanji from suffering ?¿ every time I write him, he suffers and he is quite literally one of my favourite one piece characters... I am so sorry pookie
This is my favourite part of this chapter:
“My hands started sweating. I haven’t done that since I was ten.”
Zoro’s grip on the railing tightened. “You wanted to run?”
“I did run.”
Another beat.
Zoro glanced sideways. “You really think he’s looking for you?”
Sanji didn’t answer right away.
“I don’t know…” He paused, his mind racing, “But if he finds me, I stop being me.”
The gulls cried overhead. The wind hummed.
Zoro leaned his elbows on the railing beside him. “We won’t let him.”
Sanji laughed—just once, sharp and bitter. “Who’s we?”
Zoro didn’t hesitate. “You. Me. My new katana and your stupid-looking boots.”
Sanji finally looked at him, tired but present.
“You’re a goddamn idiot.”
Zoro shrugged. “Takes one to raise one. You said you still outrank me, twirly brow.”
Another puff of smoke drifted between them.
“Thanks,” Sanji said. Not sarcastic. Not loud. Just real.
Zoro didn’t nod. Didn’t speak.
He just stood beside him on the roof, like a wall, like a sword, like a friend who’d already made a blood promise and had no plans to break it.
“Wanna fight something?” he asked after a moment.
Sanji barked a dry laugh. “Yeah,” he said. “Something with a punchable face.”
Zoro unsheathed his new katana just enough to catch the light—and tilt it so Sanji saw his reflection in the steel.
Then he rested a hand on Sanji’s shoulder, voice flat but sincere:
