hello! i had a quick question :> so i read in the rules that multimuse blogs are not allowed, but how do we handle a case where two characters are intrinsically intertwined? eg, aphelios & alune from league of legends? under normal circumstances, alune is a spirit who is tied to aphelios - though in this world, i think putting them as separate individuals would work better. would i need two separate blogs & does it count as two charas if i wanted to write these twins? thank you for your time!
Hello! :) Thank you for checking the group out!
To answer your question in short: it would depend on the canon point, and which twin you are applying! If the character you would like to apply is Alune, regardless of her canon point, then Aphelios would be a separate character entirely. He would need his own blog and take up his own character slot. If you took Aphelios from the canon point before he drank noctum essence, he would be applied as his own character as well.
If you were to take Aphelios from a canon point set after Alune moved on to the Marus Omegnum, Aevum Isle's Mascots, NPCs and Pets Policy would apply.
In this case, due to the nature of Aevum Isles' setting, Alune would serve as a Mascot Character as defined by the policy, and would need application permissions specified at the top of her application. But, this would allow her to be written alongside Aphelios on a singular bog if you wanted to pick up both twins, due to the nature of their powers and canon point.
For Aevum Isle's definition of a "canon point", please see the Aevum Isles RP Terms Glossary's definition of "canon".
You can read the full details about it on our Group Policies Page!
To summarize the policy: in the cases where two characters are intrinsically tied at their stated canon point, Aevum Isles Staff will expect different application requirements depending on the nature of the characters. Typically, though, there is still a 'main' muse who is applied, and the secondary muse receives their own treatment on the same blog.
A Mascot - a character with a defined personality and a physical presence who can act independently of the main muse. Typically this character could be written in a thread without the main muse present, though to find them without the main muse would be rare. (e.g., Paimon from Genshin Impact, or Pikachu from the Pokémon anime series.)
An NPC - a character with a defined personality but who cannot interact independently of the main muse in a substantial manner. They may have a defined personality, but no physical presence, or a physical presence, but lack a defined personality.
It is worth noting that a mascot character and an NPC character can still be requested as another member's muse. However, Aevum Isles Staff will typically defer to the existing member's application preferences to keep things fair. The regulations for requesting a claimed mascot or NPC, and indicating application preferences are described in the policy outline.
