Indulge in the rich and creamy goodness of this homemade hot chocolate. Perfect for cozy nights by the fireplace or as a delightful treat during chilly winter days.
Ingredients: 2 cups of whole milk. 1/4 cup of heavy cream. 1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chips. 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder. 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar. 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Pinch of salt. Whipped cream for topping. Chocolate shavings for garnish optional.
Instructions: In a saucepan, combine the whole milk and heavy cream over medium heat. Heat until it starts to steam, but do not let it boil. Add the semisweet chocolate chips, unsweetened cocoa powder, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the saucepan. Stir continuously until the chocolate chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy. Once the hot chocolate is heated through and well combined, remove it from the heat. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with a generous dollop of whipped cream. If desired, garnish with chocolate shavings for an extra touch of decadence. Serve hot and enjoy!
