Uncomfortable Police (Washington, D.C.) are a longtime-collaboration-under-a-new-name between Unrest/TeenBeat founder Mark Robinson and hollAnd/producer Trevor Kampmann. Their collaboration has previously gone by Fang Wizard (2011) and Party Milk (2023), but Uncomfortable Police adds vocals.

This has a synth driven feel that recalls Chime Oblivion. A Bandcamp user commented, "...some of the nicest avant-pop i've heard since the last High Llamas album." This was recently released on TeenBeat.

One listen to "The Ick" by Crying Loser and I thought I was listening to one of John Dwyer's many side projects or alter-egos. Nope. Crying Loser are, of all things, an Irish (Cork) band. Yes, that's right, the country that brought us So Cow, The Pogues, and Laurie Shaw now gives us this 12" slab that, according to the Bandcamp page, "is a raw byproduct of abrasive, frenzied and hypnotic energy, looking to scratch the miserable itch of life at the bottom of the barrel." I agree, this album sounds like it was birthed in the late 1970s no wave scene.

Again, Crying Loser immediately made me think of Osees, and Chime Oblivion, or his new project, Heathen Axe. It's abrasiveness reminds me of mclusky. This is released by Trapped Animal Records.
