Actually ya know what? I WANT this Chimptopia show to come out only to see it hilariously face plant and fail. I want all of those indie animation grifter chuds to make videos on why it failed and come to the conclusion that their pathetic Tower of Babel built on foundations of hatred will never triumph over our passion and heart. I want love to win.

Some indie animation fans: Wow, an awesome looking short film! Let’s like it!

Most of indie animation fans: A BAD TRAILER THAT MAKES FUN OF GAMEOVERSE MY FAVORITE GLITCH SHOW! LETS MAKE FUN OF IT!

This is why most indie pilots on Kickstarter go unnoticed if they aren’t being platformed by big animation fans. It is because of crap like this (and people who thinks Indie means Glitch and Spindlehorse). I know that My Girlfriend Enid got more likes, but still doesn’t excuse what indie animation

In case you are missing context, Chimptopia’s trailer had them making fun of Gameoverse’s Kadooble. Very poorly. I am not above parodying indie shows (since people always do that mainstream shows), but this is such a bad parody. But, here what i have to say.

But whatever you do, don’t harass the creators of Chimptopia. Especially death threats. Give the criticism about the teaser, why it is bad, what doesn’t work, and how it can change. Threatening them doesn’t help things. So, here is my criticism.

You are wasting an interesting premise of a sitcom show in the indie sphere by poorly parodying an popular pilot. You could have an ‘You thought it was one of those shows. But you are wrong’ like in Unfortunate Events. But you didn’t. Instead you do a ‘Scary Movie’ thing where you think parodying a character as stupid and having them get beat up because references = funny. Also, there are other things wrong. The main characters looks boring and are unfunny jerks. The humor is bad. You tried to attempt a 1940s style animation but it only apply in the background. And you don’t give a reason why people should support this other than, “Hey, we are not like those other shows! We have means spiritness!”

Yeah, this sucks. I hope they change the teaser to something more reflective of the show and make more tolerable. But, I’m not not holding my breath.

So go support My Girlfriend Enid before it ends in 2 weeks. It looks cool and has a great premise about body dysphoria and the effects it has on a transgender person.

I think the Chimptopia indie pilot trailer/pitch thing explains exactly what my issue is when conservatives attempt to make art, especially in our divisive political climate. They view art as so inherently political (which don't get me wrong, it is) but to such an extreme that everything creative immediately becomes propaganda. Nothing can actually be taken as a creative's genuine attempt to express a struggle, theme, idea, or question because "NO! It's about WOKE-IFYING the masses!!!" Which then makes it impossible for them to actually make anything interesting and real because they constantly have to police their own work for the exact messages they're sending to make sure it's anti-woke instead of just using art to express themselves like its meant to do. This creates an insufferable and boring panopticon no one wants to create under which I feel like is why so many of them resort to "self-aware" comedy/parody genres that rely heavily on making jabs at things they don't like.

Their mindset around creativity is so subtractive that it's always like "alright unlike these dirty LIBERALS we're gonna make a story that doesn't have all this woke crap" only to realize that it's pretty hard to a guide a narrative and make something interesting when you're solely working through a mentality of "any story is fine just as long as it isn't woke". But stories are meant TO say something, not to NOT say something. Many conservative creatives fail to understand that which is how we end up with the regurgitative "WOKE IS CRINGE RIGHT GUYS???" that has nothing original to say like the New Norm.

Funnily enough, Blue Planet did get released……. as a video game called Deeper Tide. Yeah, it was a set-up for the movie. But you can kinda said it sorta got made. Just for tiny screens.

Honestly if it was something like the first teaser of Scooby Doo live action movie or Lilo and Stitch (I always love those), it would be okay in my book. But not edgy, try hard crap like this and Chimptopiaz
