Song: Mark your way (Βάλε τα σημάδια σου)

This song was originally a poem of one of the most famous Greek poets, Kostis Palamas. He wrote it for his son who passed away at a young age. In it he begs his son to not follow Death to the underworld, to put up some markings and return home.

I always found this poem and song as strikingly beautiful. I first studied Kostis Palamas in primary school, and I instantly adored his work. It’s funny how life works, that I would use this poem/song for a loved one.

My grandfather loved poetry a lot. We would spend hours talking about great poets from all over the world, about the meaning behind the words and the feelings that come with it.

I miss having conversations that matter. He was the only one whom I could actually TALK with and gain something from every conversation.
