Three interesting pages from a Qing Period Manual, the Xīn xióng quán zhé fǎ 新雄拳折法 showing applications of the Chinese Chā (叉, forks). Thought better known as an Okinawan weapon, and by the Japanese term Sai. These weapons have a Chinese origin. Brennan has suggested a date of no later than 1829 for this manual. Qing Spearmen- Note the length of their spears. They are holding them near the end, and they are about one and a half the length of the height of these Bannermen. That would make them about 8’ (2.4 m.) long.

Few seconds of another Dragon Style weapon set " Dragon Hoe" I like this set as it is very practical and the movements will work in battle ! Also I train with a stainless steel Hoe head which is 2kgs in weight and highly sharpened... I don't believe in training with a wooden or unsharpened blade if you are not confident enough to wield a real blade then you need much more practise !
