i really love that Kaladin is a spearman? and even when he’s a Big Ol Radiant he still mostly sticks to the spear? bc that’s what he’s trained in and what he knows? idk i feel like in most fantasy, the spearmen are the little guys sent at the front to die. maybe that’s the point lol. as badass as swords and SHARDBLADES are, im glad that Kaladin is associated with the spear. im glad that he sticks to it and even blatantly refuses to fight with the blade in favor of the spear. it kind of shows his underdog, underestimated origins
