“Get in touch with your friends and tell them to bring the others to Tails’ workshop,” Sonic said, moving to pick up the frozen fox robot. He wasn’t as heavy as he looked, and Sonic had never realized just how little Tails was before.
Dave gave him a look that was part confusion, part suspicion. “That wreck? No one’s been there in years. Why would you—“
“Just do it!” Sonic was getting fed up with people questioning him, especially since he seemed to be the one in charge around here now. “That’s an order!”
That seemed to remind Dave of who he was dealing with, and he jerked back, giving Sonic a shaky nod before hurrying off. Sonic watched him go for a moment, before turning and hurrying toward the workshop, Tails cradled in his arms.
