Cleaning out my old desk so here's some of my old masks

Cut because long post but some of these are really cool and also I'm selling one so take a look

Angler mk1: One of my very first masks, just paper mache and air dry clay and meant to be worn under a hood. It's so old and that most of the teeth are cracked or broken and I live in a very humid place so there's like. Crystals? Growing off of them. Going in the trash after this bc it's definitely a proof of concept

Angler mk2: ooh this guy's so much better. Oven baked clay teeth and a glass eye, it's got lips, a nose, and a chin. It's a bit difficult to see out of. You're not supposed to see the eye bc it's supposed to be covered with a hood. It's much heavier, made out of unfired terracotta but they're so cute <3 The base is a shiny blue paint I found under the bleachers in high school

Thranduil's crown (sans leaves): Not a mask but close enough. Hot glue and wires babbyyy

Steven: Ough I love this guy, a good mix of fluffy and solid with human eyes clearly visible behind it. Was my first terracotta mask and got me hooked on the material. Smells VERY strongly of clay even after like 4-5 years. Fur tucks into shirt giving great character immersion imo - that's clearly it's own dude

Headless horseman dude: paper mache over a beachball - molded while drying. Air dry clay over top, never finished painting. It was going to be a squishy looking rotting pumpkin with a chunk out the side exposing neon green goop+candy. This guy's going on the trash too, it's been sitting around wayyy too long. Might revisit the idea again one day

Ok last is my kenku/corvid mask/fursuit head I made for Halloween 2021. I got the resin base from dreamvision creations but everything on top of it is my own, the inside is foam and the eyes are glass. There's a couple different types of feathers over top of black faux fur and it's sooo fluffy still. The jaw is on springs so the mouth opens and closes when you talk. I wore this to a con once bc it was all I had and Kevin Clash was very impressed. We talked about the design of big bird and how the springs like in my mask would make a super cool puppet. It needs a little hairspray and tlc and is made with a whole lot of hot glue, but it's still a great fursuit head. I will be making an official post about selling it (with many more pictures) later (hoping for $235 but we'll see).
