What does Sun Square Chiron mean in Synastry? Thank you so much!
Hey there! 💕 Thank YOU for asking this question!! 💕
[Below Cut: Synastry - Sun-Chiron Aspect]
Hope you don’t mind if I pull this into a Sun-Chiron aspect in general as well, we’ll definitely touch on Sun-square-Chiron, but I think some of the key points applies to most of the other Sun-Chiron aspects too (conjunct, sextile, trine, opposition, etc)
To cut straight into it, I actually like Chiron aspects in synastry.
Mostly because it’s like, a wake up slap for us to get into gear and work towards our better purposes.
By ourselves, most of us might be prone to overanalyzing, not working on something we should’ve been gotten to.
Getting distracted by other things and never wanting to tend to our wounds. Which usually– in natal aspect it just makes us take so long to finally deal with our wounds/problems.
Chiron-Sun aspect is like a direct slap to our heart, a straight forward smack on why we’re being idiots. It’s not like Saturn-Sun or MC-Sun where slight power-play is noticeable, Chiron-Sun is more you’re running a marathon and a good friend runs up next to you to encourage you to run with them (instead of like, a coach or an authority figure)
Sure, your lungs are burning and you feel like your limbs are disconnected from your body but you keep going anyways because of that friend. If it was a coach/authority figure telling you to keep going, you’d just done it because they were telling you to (get it?)
Anyways, Chiron-Sun aspect is like that Sweet Burn to your ego that may make you sizzle and feel vulnerable, but the objective of Chiron is always to heal.
So the end goal of Chiron is to always overcome that personal challenge, to always revive like a phoenix and blast your way out of your own insecurities and limitations.
The Sun person, signifying the ego/self/core of the person -- when aspected to the Chiron will feel like their foundation is shaken up by them (occasionally). Chiron shines a light on the most vulnerable part of the Sun person, making them re-evaluate themselves, their bad habits, their ego -- in order to self-improve or better themselves.
The Sun has a lot of vitality to them, that’s like-- the core of the person. If you’re able to glean the lessons that Chiron brings (come to terms with it) -- the ability to heal, help others, teach and urge others to better themselves through their pain will be tremendous.
But it’s also a sensitive point, remember that the Sun does signify the core foundation of the person. If the person is unable to see past their hurt, their insecurities or doubts the Chiron’s influence on them --they may get their ego bruised, brush the Chiron away through unhealthy behaviours, run the opposite way and try to hurt the Chiron person through hurting themselves as well.
The Chiron person, is the one exposing their most vulnerable parts to the Sun person here. If it’s conjunct, the Chiron person will have to face their insecurities (feeling of inadequacy) and overcome them in order to step in line with the Sun person.
If it’s trine, the Chiron and Sun person may have an easier time gaining help from each other-- emotionally and spiritually, they both grow. And thus they use that regenerative power to help others as well.
Sextiles between Chiron and Sun encourages a lot more interactions between these two placements. One might act like the teacher, while the other gains valuable insight from them.
Oppositions of Chiron and Sun shows them how to work with each other. Their subconscious becomes more conscious, brought to light. Habits or quirks they might not have noticed otherwise are questioned, and if they’re receptive/somewhat aware that they have their flaws-- they will gain a lot from this teamwork dynamic they have.
Squares between Chiron and Suns are similar to the Sextiles aspect, but instead of allowing each other to get away with things-- there’s a question at the end of ‘so what are you going to do about it?’ -- leaves either side to question whether they’ll take actions to change, or remain stuck in their own problem.
The dynamic is like a teamwork/partnership dynamic, it’s both personal/intimate and emotional, as well as externally driven to see each other succeed in life.
They encourage each other, there may be some honest truth that hurts, sometimes things that are done without regards to each other’s feelings/the others aren’t prepared for --- but ultimately, if both partners can work together to see past their own limitations/scope they can earn a lot from each other as well.
I like to think of it as like, Moon/Dark Moon Lilith influence as well. It dregs up the subconscious and put it into question, it allows room for vulnerabilities, intimacy, honesty with each other.
It’s both supportive and independent of each other. Ultimately, the lesson Chiron brings is that others can’t heal you, you have to heal yourself first.
Chiron-Sun teaches you how to navigate flexibly, instead of linearly you have to evaluate the different sides of you in order to put it to work.
The desire to be there for each other through thick and thin is strong, but both partners have to learn how to stand up on their own in order to step in line with the lesson it brings.
I hope this answers your questions about Chiron! 💕 Thanks for sending in the ask! 💕
