this passage in the short stories collection had me in stitches. even when they're adults, derek is still the same big, scary werewolf guy from the first book of the trilogy whom no one wants to deal with except chloe. i'm so glad kelley still keeps writing about these two even after all these years. also idc if i'm the only one left standing in this fandom. i will inhale literally any crumb about chloe and derek and will cherish them until i die.

It's so crazy to me that there is not a bigger fandom for The Darkest Powers by Kelley Armstrong??? I just reread it for the manyeth time and its is JUST as good as it was when i read in eigth grade ca 2009??? It just has EVERYTHING i want in a book??? They are a gang of fucked up teens on the run from a supernatural corporation that did experiments on them??? They are always bickering and growing and learning!!! They all have interesting arcs!!!! The ROMANCE is to my opinion one of the best in all teen fiction!!!! Its amazing!!! And criminal that we didnt get ten more books of them!!! READ IT!!! Im going to start making my own goddamned content for it!! Please add me if you love these books!!! Need to see all and anything you got!!

So I am on my 5th reread of The Darkest Powers, and I always felt (since my first reread) that - despite the fact that apparently Kelley Armstrong somehow didn't write the first book with chlerek endgame in mind - there is some chlerek foreshadowing in book one already... But this time I feel like it's not subtle, it's not foreshadowing, it's just straight up pure crush in front of my salad!

Maybe it's the rose tinted glasses of an obsessive shipper... But I swear I found so many tiny tiny things-
