I like the beginning of movies. When the lights just turned off and it’s pitch black. The very first scene. You don’t really understand what you see. Some random life scene without prior context. Everything can happen. You can imagine whatever you want. It will makes sense later but for now you just let yourself go with the flow. The movie is in charge and all you have to do is to take it as it comes.
I don’t always remember those scenes. It doesn’t really matter. What’s the most important is this safety kinda feeling I have during these first few minutes. This is when I remember why I love going to the cinema. Watching movies at home will never replace this sensation.
